I called many times too and received similar info so calling is up to the buyer... It's not the most comfortable thing to do when your contents aren't exactly legal to import or grey area shall I say. Most would say you are admitting to knowing of the package and can get in trouble?

Honestly don't think that's the case.
Let's not forget your full address and name is on that package.
Say regular Joe's surfing the web. He has no idea what a rep is nor forums exist.
At some point Google and its snippets and such point him to that Ali something web site.. or was it Deal something??
He clicks and then bumps into some things he likes. Say, a timepiece this time. Pretty and cheap, he thinks "why not?" and pays for it.
Then he gets the letter and has no clue and wonders, why???
Remember, if you believe they've done wrong, within 30 days of the date of the letter you can file a claim and cost bond in the sum of $5,000.00 or 10 percent of the value of the property, whichever is
lower, but not less than $250.00.
In theory - unless such claim is received by the office by close of business on the date indicated in the letter, the property will then be declared forfeit and disposed of (
cough, cough..) in accordance with the law.
