no, the guy who thread crapped is not owed an apology. He thread crapped on someone's sale, on one of our good friend's sale. Ever since I joined I learned that was a no no. If you have a problem or a question about someone's sale then you pm them personally, and if you don't get a satisfactory answer and you think something smells fishy about it, then you contact a mod. You don't thread crap.

Deniss was always good to me, and I followed his builds and vintage watches, and learned a lot from him, and I backed him up as a friend and fellow member when he was thread crapped. I read his ad first and saw their were other great members here involved in the build too. I would have had no hesitation in buying from Deniss with his reputation.

So in my opinion no apologies to the guy that thread crapped. On the other hand if I were the seller I then would have provided the information asked of me to prove my build. but I would have been royally ticked if someone did that on one of my sales instead of just pm'ing me.

As far as the situation with the charge back and blocking all of us, who were his friend.............I don't understand it. I know he has gone through a very tough year, and things probably just all piled up on him. at least that's what I'm thinking. but who knows. I've had the worst year of my life, every aspect of my life sucks right now, but the last thing I would do would be to turn my back on the friends who have been here for me or scam someone out of a lot of money. But everyone handles things differently. Whatever is going on with Deniss, I hope he straightens it up and makes it right with the TD, and with us too. I know there is a slim chance that this is all a mix up but in my heart I really hope it just is.

I think we all hope this is a big mistake, however it doesn't look good for him, a innocent person would have straightened this out on page one. When its a member sale there's always two sides maybe even three sides to the story. This is a very unique situation here where the dealer has been ripped off by a bogus chargeback. I couldn't give a F about what he's mad at, or his life situation, or his overpriced sales post, F all that shit. It doesn't matter. Doing a chargeback and keeping items you didn't pay for is a scheme and F'ed up.

We have nothing else to go on so there's not much room for any other conclusion.

It is a sad state of affairs when one of our very own turns Breaking Bad.

Just goes to show that the temptation for some to make money is too much. He has sacrificed a lot now, and theres no turning back. His life will never been the same.

This is really sad. I have to assume he must have been in some serious bind. Makes no sense why he would do this. It's not like he is making off with 30-50k or maybe he got all the reps he wants and decided to go out with a bang and has a plan B. makes no sense he would do that to a TD knowing he would be called out.... Shocked!

Before I got really active again on this forum last year (I was basically a non-existent lurker for two years before I jumped back in) I was scammed three times. THREE.

The first was buying what I thought was a gen Breitling off Kijiji for $3600.00. The guy had all the paperwork, box and warranty cards and everything. We met at a local AD to verify and sure it enough it was all good. What I failed to miss was his sleight of hand in swapping out the gen for a rep within minutes of us leaving the store to finalize the deal. It was some pure magic. I took it home and something didn't sit right so I went back to the AD and they confirmed that it was a rep. When I tried to contact the seller, the number was no longer in service nor was his email or anything of the sort. I was mad for a very long time and almost swore off watches completely.

The second time was through a TD based on another forum (which might be defunct now). I bought 4 watches which were to be shipped separately to avoid custom seizure. About $1000 in total. Two arrived and were basically Canal Street crap. The other two never came. When I tried to get my money back from the "TD" I never heard back and was eventually told by other forum members to just simply "suck it up and let it go... that's how the rep world works". At the time I was disappointed and felt betrayed by an entire community.

The last time was through a friend of mine whom I met at a local watch collecting group. We had been friends for about a year and done a few deals between the two of us. Never was there an issue, never was there any question to his integrity or credibility. The last sale I made was a purchase of a PAM 111 off him. Gen box and docs, extra strap and tool, even an "invoice" from an AD in Miami. The watch at the time was retailing around the $6-$7K range in the resell market. We agreed upon $5000 and I went to the bank and gave him the cash. A week later I get a call from another member in the group complaining that he was scammed for a PAM 111 that was supposedly legit. Same price, same box docs and invoice. I knew right then and there that I had been a victim of the same scam. When a few of us met up and chatted about the situation we found out that about 10 of us had fallen for a similar type deal, not all PAMs but all around the $5K range. That's $50K he made away with. None of us were able to get in touch with him. Phone number changed, emails disabled and he had even moved from his place. About 6 months later we found out that he had a serious drug / gambling problem. Looking at him and knowing him you would have never known that he had such addictions. I've been through my own addiction battle so I know what it's like to pretend to be someone else to appear normal. Were we mad? Absolutely. We filed police reports and everything. But what bugged me more was that he felt that he had no other choice but to go through all this charade to befriend us, take the time to source very incredibly GEN looking PAM 111's and boxes and scam all of us at the same time. He must have really had some issues that he was dealing with personally.

So why share these stories?

Simply put : “None of us knows what might happen even the next minute, yet still we go forward. Because we trust. Because we have Faith.” - Paulo Coehlo

We are programmed to trust people. Those in this thread that are saying "don't trust anyone" are a little naive. Chances are you trust lots of people, but it doesn't mean you don't suspect people. I didn't have a lot of dealings with Dennis but just like Big Raji I became Instagram friends with him last week. I've read a lot of his posts about his vintage builds and like the rest of you I am shocked at what may or may not have happened here. It now seems like he has made a lot of friends here over the years and has been a solid contributor to this community. It really is a shame at how this has all gone down.

The internet has made it so that we blindly trust more than we ever have before. We look at "Sales Ratings" and "Reviews" and tell ourselves "well others seem to trust him, I should trust him as well." So when these things happen we are quick to point fingers and throw mud in every direction we can. It's easy to say nasty mean things about people when they are halfway around the world sitting in front of a computer screen. Computer screens don't yell back or hurt you physically. All this trash talk here about betrayal and Dennis being this and being that, though warranted maybe, is completely uncalled for.

None of us joined this forum to scam people. If you did, chances are you are found out pretty quick.

Whatever happened here is a matter of circumstance. Until Dennis or the TD comes out and gives a full detail of their side of the story, this persons online integrity has been called into question and most likely will never be trusted again.

I guess what I'm trying to say is this. We are on a forum community built of online members. We don't really know each other. Even those who say you do, I think it's rare that you REALLY know that person. We all have lives outside of this community, we all have issues, we all have things going on that we obviously don't talk about here. Though what he allegedly did is obviously wrong, I don't think it's fair to just go off and say all these nasty things about someone until we know the real story. The worst thing we could do right now is get all crazy on here and start questioning each other in M2M sales, etc. This hopefully is an isolated incident. Those of us who do our homework know well enough who to "trust" and who to "question". Stay frosty.

I love this forum. It rekindled my passion for watches. I have a few gen pieces in my collection but I love the fact that I can get really high quality time pieces without losing a mortgage over it. I would hope that no one ever has to go through what I did before I came on here and really understood the rep game. But the bottom line is this, anything and everything can happen. You can only put your stock in what you can see feel and touch. This after all is the internet.

I just started following him on Instagram last week, and now I've been blocked as well just like beemer. Definitely not a good sign.

He changed his name on there.

so sad had him do a vintage Pepsi for me. Before I even sent him the watch or money he ordered the Clark parts for me. Talked to him a lot about other things not watch related I really liked him

A few more facts guys. He bought 4 watches from a TD totaling close to 2.5k. He then did a CC charge back and PP then acted in their interests since they had lost out. We have tried to get his side, he won't answer emails or phone calls, his social media accounts have been changed and/or shut down. The last time he visited here was the 17th. His pics have been removed from his photo hosting account and his email address was changed on the forum records.

We have his name, addresses, family details, criminal history etc so this isn't over yet. Only thing I don't yet have is his employer, anyone know?

Believe me we tied very hard to find a reason before posting this but we can't find another explanation. No one was more surprised than I. All I can say is payback can be a bitch . . .

It's difficult to understand how this was done (without all the facts), even if you bought just one rep (let alone thousands worth) by PP and then file a dispute you have to give PP a full description of what you bought, where you bought from, and more. I mean PP doesn't just return funds on a whim do they??
PP didn't as above it was a CC chargeback, Reason: "goods not delivered or not as described" PP then did a reverse after they lost the funds.

Does anyone know if he's on Repgeek? I know many of us are on both forums and if he's on there, maybe we should give a warning to those on that site too? I guess that's a question to the mods and senior members (which I'm not) since I don't want to start some type of cross forum controversy.
All the fora have been informed.

Anyone knows who's the TD?
I would appreciate if speculation on this ceased, it's up to the dealer involved if he/she wishes to come forward.

Who did you contact mate?
'twas you I PM'd on RG I thought.

He'll change identity and come back...
Oh no he won't, we will know.
