I recommend 005 over 111.

I love my 005. The only thing I don't know for sure is which factory currently offers the best version. I personally don't seem to like the XF version from pics (greener color lume and I saw one members Pic that came with sunken CP) but I have never seen one in person.

The current PAM005 from NOOB (latest model) has an incorrect "A" on the dial fonts. They're using the "A" from the NOOB PAM390

XF seems to have the correct fonts for "A"

I wonder what happened to 799, and of course 1661 (edit) should be in the 44mm group.

Leaning towards the PAM111 Noob V12. Has anyone received one yet? Or QC pics? Trying to decide if the V12 is worth it over the V11. Andrew told me the V12 is actually made by a close relative of Noob factory.

I would think the differences are minimal. It sounds to me that they are offloading it to someone else because it’s good enough already and they want to focus on something else.

That's a deal breaker for me. Shame on Noob!

That might be the reason why the overall quality and build construction has gone down in general.

I bought the NOOB PAM111 together with the XF PAM000 and PAM005 and did notice some differences in overall construction and attention to detail.

1. The crown on my NOOB PAM111 was wobbly compared to the PAM000 and PAM005 I have from XF
2. The "A" on the latest NOOB PAM005 is wrong, it is the "A" with the low horizontal line. The XF PAM005 I have uses the correct "A" font
3. The screw in bars of the NOOB PAM111 are too short and the ends are not flush and polished as per gen (XF did it perfectly)
4. The threading in the case for the screw in bars was badly done. They were really rough and I had an extremely difficult time getting them in and out resulting in scratches to the case. It was a breeze with the XF screw bars
5. I'm not sure which movement (ST36 or some generic A6497) they are using but the winding in the NOOB feels "loose" compared to the XF which is nice and snug. There seems to be some play in the mechanism
6, The crown guard fell off after a couple of uses!!! (That was a shock) The threading seems to be either loose or too shallow. Fixed that with threadlocker
7. The watch is now running 2-5 min slow! This really pisses me off
8. Crownguard alignment finishing doesn't seem to be as meticulous as the previous versions with the lever bulging out ever so slightly.

Positives
1. Correct fonts on the dial, correct “A"
2. Lume seems to be pretty good for a rep, a bit better than XF
3. Crownguard is really tight and snappy, I like that feeling
4. The crystal is really clear (not sure if it is double AR) but it makes the dial really stand out
5. The canon pin on mine was flat

Negatives
- see above

it seems you got some messed up noob pam111.
I believe most of noob pam111 won’t have those issues except for wobbly crown - I think most noob pam111 versions have wobbly crown.

I'm not very impressed with XF CGs, the Noob always had vey straight interior corners. The old HF Pams were very good in general, but Noob CG the best.

blim, were all those issues on a V12 or V11 noob pam111? I hope they’re uncommon like rcom440 said. I’m about to pull the trigger on one.

Mine was the V12. As far as I understand the V11 is no longer available. I initially wanted to get a V11, but the TDs told me it was all V12s now.

I might just be plain unlucky to have gotten a lemon. A perfect storm of problems with my NOOB PAM111, and as of now, it is running 5min slow within 12 hours.
Remember to check the screws on your CG if you are going NOOB. Mine dropped off after a couple of uses.
Factory QC must have been bad or non existent.
Pretty disappointed to say the least given how hyped up NOOB was with all the talk about quality.

I've just ordered a XF PAM111 instead after reading and watching Chinese reviews and comparisons between NOOB and XF for PAM111.
The consensus from the mainland TDs is that NOOB (they call it N Factory/ N 厂) quality is no longer there and the quality has in fact dropped. They opinion that XF quality is better overall.

Also, the "green lume" issue that was brought up in the forum, in reality after watching the video comparisons, it is actually NOOB that is inaccurate. The gen lume does have that faint greenish tint/hue while the NOOB is a little too white.

I think I'll just keep the NOOB for spare parts now

Thanks blim. That’s a bummer. Now I’m not sure if I want to get a noob 111. At first I thought it was pretty much the best NWBIG Pam.

Go for XF 005.
I think I prefer 111 but 005 is also a great classic Pam.

My gen panerai 111 knowledge may be outdated but as of around K series, the gen lume in person had barely any green hue. Not quite white in color but it's more ivory-ish tone than green-ish hue. If you have a panerai AD near by go take a look. H Factory K series rep had very good Lume color. XF seems a bit too green to me from pics but it's really hard to tell just going by pictures of course.

What also bothers me a little bit about XF 111 is the shape of the 6. It's slightly fatter on the bottom left of the 6. Because of this shape, it makes the spacing between 6 and L Swiss Made L appear a bit closer than gen. But of course this really is... Just nit picking.

With that said though, XF pricing is just awesome, especially with the coupon and at the end of the day, the flaws exist on both Noob and XF. Luckily very minor too.

You guys should have seen my first Pam 111H from 2005 or 2006. L Swiss Made L was literally touching the bottom of 6 and it had wrong fonts, color, super inaccurate CG, recessed CP etc etc etc haha. 111 has come a long way since to say the least

Left: XF, Mid: Genuine Right: NOOB

He is comparing the shade of the lume

You'll see that the XF shade is much closer to the gen (maybe a very very little bit more green), while the NOOB has more white tones which are more obvious

The difference in shades is more apparent in a NOOB vs gen comparison relative to a XF vs gen comparison

The genuine PAM111 is a Q series, which means it is still fairly recent.

I was debating between a 111, 1312 and a 127. I ultimately decided that aesthetically the date window doesn't look as nice as the 3. I do prefer.the brushed 1950 case but the 127 is a tad big. Ultimately went for the 111.

Noob indeed looks a tad bit too white. XF does have more green tone but you're right it's not bad.

XF's "6" is a pretty easy tell for me though but it's probably only because I studied the shape of the numeral. Noob's crown lever looks off. I am surprised since at one point in the past they had it nailed down I feel like.

127 is massive in comparison to 111. I had a rep of it at one point and sold it right after I got it due to the size and how ridiculous it looked on my 6.75 inch wrist lol
