It's the base for me. It seems they're more square now in my opinion.

Still gonna get a V3 dial and replace coronet and markers with my Btf v2 ones.

Look at my comparison photo with gen.
CF makers have always been more gen like than BTF ones.

I respect your opinion on all Daytona matters very much Mark, but I beg to differ here. To me only the lume on clean was better.

I don't see a crazy difference on the markers TBH...I mean maybe under magnification but even side by side with the naked eye it's not too drastic?

The coronet...yea. My JF OP had a similar issue but honestly, besides QCing it, it's never impacted me or was even that obvious to my buddies gens. Maybe I'm being too lenient because I've wanted a 116500 for years.

When crystals produces the same reflection the watches are really close. Just look at the two images diagonally (compare top left and bottom right).

This example in the video has a ring with platinum turned off. CF platinum engravings are usually much brighter. Maybe it's just dirty.

Not sure what you mean by a ring with platinum turned off?

I don't think it's dirt, mine behaves the same way in mid/low light since the beginning.

My best guess is that the engraving is ever so slightly deeper than gen and therefore doesn't catch quite as much light.

The one in my ARF dial comes from a 36mm dj. Gen. Perfect fit

best is BTF V2 whole and swap dial to CF V3 and coronet from BTF…. BTF nailed the coronet - depth shape size etc
