Chazingtime doesnt have it either anymore. Not sure what to do now. Go with a older version daytona 116519 like clean v3, or go with the newer daytona 126519 ghost… any recommendations?

I’m in the same boat. Desperately want this watch. Chazingtime said they might be back in production again within a few weeks so patiently holding out. Would be good if anyone has any news about the Gold Factory raid?

Been told aps uses the same case manufacturer as gold factory, just the other parts are different

That’s interesting, although the dial was also very close to gen on the Gold Factory. Not sure what the APS is like?

Anyone with an apsf daytona can share their thoughts on these watches? I have had contact with many dealers and none of them were able to get a gold factory 116519..

Lost the qcs. Looks decent, the Gold plating is slightly too yellow, i will try to improve it with silvo in the future. Its very heavy, the rehaut looks nice too. Will install a btf Paul Newman dial and hands soon.

I have an apsf panda, got it in late summer last year and its great, comprared to my btf. I've done some mods to it but its a good base and the SH movement is still great. This Gold heavy one also looks decent, will see how it goes with time.

Hey all,

Came across this post today - really glad that I did. Sorry if this redirects the topic.
I'm working on two frankens right now (maybe 3 depending on circumstances). Gunning for both a 116505 and a 116515 and I'm trying to determine the best base for both. I've heard so many conflicting recommendations, but I don't really want to go down this path and not have it be right. As far as case shape and weight, what is the overall consensus from this community? I've considered BTF as many say the case shape is the most accurate, Clean for obvious reasons, and now with the new tungsten models from QF/Gold.

Spec for both:
116505/116515
Meteorite Dial
Gen Crystal
Gen Hands
Gen Bezel/Clean V3
RG Plating

Update on my apsf with added weight: as mentioned it was too yellow, so here are the results After some silvo: (clasp is stock and case is polished with silvo in the first pic, second pic is the end result).

Thanks for the photos looks great! I few months back I placed an order for tungsten from gold factory and shortly after it got shut down, then I was told apsf isnt making tungsten Daytonas anymore.. did you get yours recently? im looking to get the RG with chocolate dial..I wonder if color of gold will be off as well.

Ok great! thanks for the quick response.

One more question if I may, For me the main draw of the watch is the added weight. It seems the gold factory added weight to the case but not clasp, im assuming its the same with Apsf . The thing is, Apsf recently increased the weight of their AP 15400r and now added weight to the clasp on that watch. Since it seems that they do have the ability to add weight to more intricate parts such as the clasp, Im hoping they have already or will be adding tungsten to the clasp as well.

Im curious how the overall watch feels and more specificly the clasp in comparison to the case.. I just want to make sure the clasp doesnt feel flimsy and "cheap" compared to the heavy case.

I personally dont find the weight inequality to be uncomfortable, but it is there. Puretime has “gain weight” clasps listed on their SWF modded daytonas.

I purchased one out of curiosity. Found it to be between 20% to 25% heavier than my stick daytona clasp, about 5 grams. It’s on the way back from plating now.

I do not think the clasp is with added weight... Its unfortunate, yes but if you check most (not sure if all) of the tungsten clasps they have very bad text engraving. Not a biggie for me but it may bother some. The watch is pretty heavy anyways, i am sure you will be Happy with it

I wasn't aware of the existence of tungsten clasps, do you happen to have a photo?
