I have a rep DJ31 with something named 2688 pictures attached.
The ETA 2688 is a Day/Date version of the 26xx series of ladies sized calibres. It's interesting that it would be in a DJ, but stranger things have happened. It could also be the case that the asian clone of the 26xx series ETA movements have a different naming scheme the same way the 24xx series do (e.g. the ETA 2836 is a day date version of the 2824, but for asian clones the 2836 is often the GMT version of the 2824).

^^^ for reference.

The new Pepsi V3 from VSF is currently a big topic of conversation here in the forum. There's also a comprehensive report with countless detailed pictures comparing it to Gen and Clean. The claim is that VSF is now also using the DD3285 movement.

However, looking at the photos, it's noticeable that the VSF rotor ball bearing is equipped with far fewer balls, while the Gen and the Clean DD3285 have a very large number of balls.

Can anyone tell me why the DD caliber in the VSF is different in this respect? Is it perhaps not a DD3285 at all? See photos from the post here in the forum.

For the record, this thread is about this forum thread:

Good catch. VSF does seem to be using the DD3285, but it’s a DD3285 with fewer balls supporting the rotor. However, as far as i was aware, Clean was previously using a DD3285 with sparse ball bearings too. This is the first time I’ve seen a rep 32xx movement with a fully packed bearing block. Previously I’d only ever seen fully packed rotor blocks on 4131 movements (from both SH and DD). Perhaps Clean got access to the latest version of the DD3285 from Dandong before VSF did? This will be something to watch going forward. If there is a new variation of the DD32xx movements confirmed I’ll be sure to update the guide.

Looks like a Dandong 3135 (vs3135). Note the clockwise coil of the hairspring—a common tell that a clone movement is from Dandong.
Ah thanks i was looking at the levers. Appreciate the answer

Yes this is strange but looks like a naming topic. i have also rep that runs A2236 r... clone looks like original one in my opinion is better than 2688 because of all correct markings etc. - but winding mechanism is a bit tough - more strength is required to move it . In comparison to 2688 ... I just had in my possession gen DJ 31 - hmm winding is like 2688 but more tough - looks like gen is difficult to wind ...
