Hi all,

Thought I would post this in the attempt to try and help those looking at the differences between the JF 15400 and a gen.

I know there has already been a rep vs gen on the same watch, but I believe that was on a BP version, and we all know JF is currently the king of AP's.

So on to the pics, gen on the left.

Overall, the JF is an absolutely stunning watch. So much so that I literally can't justify the £11k difference, so I'm selling my gen. The money is better in the bank, and I can still pull off the rep as everyone knows I had the gen anyway, so I won't get called out.

Holding both watches next to each other the only immediate difference is the thickness, everything else- including the shine from the metal (which I didn't think they would be able to accurately copy) is perfect.

It's amazing to see how far we've come in the rep world, and kudos to these factories for putting so much effort into these watches for the money we pay for them.

Really I have handled the gen a few times and apart some small differences it's very very close,the finish and the sparkle is fenomenal well done JF,I really believe it's already a super rep

Most telling, others than thickness of the case, is the "AP" etching on the clasp. Picture 4 shows that the etching is much different between the 2 watches. However, as stated ZF did a great job, just hope their qc is better than the Petite Prince Big Pilot (don't get me started....).

What is a rebrush and gen spec x-tal ?

Rebrush means a refinished case eg a polishing job. The other other means a new better crystal.

I guess the major details are the engraving on the case back is too shallow on the rep, and of course the movement is quite different.

The flaws are the following:

can be fixed:
- dial is a bit off (tapissiere) and markers are sometimes too but not always
- brushing could be improved
- crystal could be improved

can not be fixed:
- engraving on the backside not deep enough
- bracelet engraving is off
- slightly too thick due to movement plate
- movement look is wrong but this cannot be fixed

great parts:
- gen shine of the metal
- correct bezel
- correct crown
- hand
- overall quality

You may find more. It is still a very good rep
