Don't worry, the Platona, regardless of its markers, will stand out from your Daytona collection.I'm about to pull the trigger and order one and find myself hesitating on making a choice between the stick markers or baguette markers. Some pros and cons of each model for consideration:
Stick markers
- Pros: This model appears more versatile for formal and casual wear. The white stick markers compliment the light blue dial very nicely and keep the dial looking clean.
- Cons: The design is very close to the 126500 model (Panda with white dial), with the only visible difference being the colour scheme. I might get bored of it if I frequently switch between this model and the Panda.
Baguette markers
- Pros: This model stands out more and adds variety to my current collection of Daytonas (Panda, Le Mans, OF models).
- Cons: The baguette markers, although complimenting the blue dial like ice, makes the entire dial look more crowded/busy due to the presence of the brown sub-rings. I find it hard to imagine myself wearing this very often due to the bling factor, so it might feel like a waste of $ if the watch doesn't get enough wrist time.
Are there any other points to consider?
It's a polarizing watch. It's also extremely attention seeking. Trust me. I daily drove ZF 15202 and BBR Perpetual AP, as well as multiple Daytonas and never felt uncomfortable honestly, but with the Platona, I could legitimately feel people staring at my wrist. Even people who don't know watches will look at it, it's very flashy.I'm about to pull the trigger and order one and find myself hesitating on making a choice between the stick markers or baguette markers. I just had a look in person at my local dealer and had some thoughts. Even though it has the winning design of the 126500 Panda model, the colour scheme of light blue and brown is aesthetically dissonant (hence eye catching) when compared to other colour combinations such as red with black or gold with black. Guess I will mull over it more before pulling the trigger. It's a polarizing watch. It's also extremely attention seeking. Trust me. It's unique for sure. Maybe shouldn't be your first daytona but if you have a few it stands out. The brown subdials and bezel change color quite often, that's the beauty of it.I just had a look in person at my local dealer and had some thoughts. Yes, the colours change under different lighting conditions. But I feel that it looks attractive only under certain lighting conditions and meh under others… sorta like a girl who looks pretty at night but average during the day lolIt's unique for sure. How does the QF compare to CF with respect to the bezel? I've seen some photos in low-lighting of the QF Le Mans and the bezel numbers are pretty muted (almost faded). Curious how this stacks up to CF as I'm currently trying to decide between these two models as my next purchase
I have a couple from CF and Btf and then the Qf. I can’t see any real difference in them, I’m not the best at spotting these things, I have Gen 126500 and the BTF in the panda and I still amazed at the rep.. I love the QF and was just about to send it to be WG plated when I saw the newest release with 24hr count.. probably nuts but I ordered it. I think you’ll be happy either way.. I took 2 links out of QF and it’s now 164gHow does the QF compare to CF with respect to the bezel?
