Today, on Clean and VSF, the quality and cleanliness level matches high street watches of the same price
I personally think that it depends more on the movement than the factories as Clean or VSF do not make movements. Personally, I would not service a movement from DD. They have proven to be very good OOTB. I would consider it on the SH4130 or the SH4131 on the other hand depending on how the movement "feels" when getting the watch.
I had an SH4130 on a QF Daytona and the winding was rough enough (compared to the DD4130s I have on my other Daytonas) that I decided to send it for a service. Now it winds like butter and the rotor is much more silent.
But yeah I'd agree that if the movement winds and operates nicely, then there's absolutely no need for a service.
Edit: Anyone that is serious enough about this hobby should invest in a timegraph. The entry level models (1000 or 1900) are pretty affordable and quite accurate. A timegraph reading will tell you everything you need to know about the movement and won't leave you guessing whether or not it needs a service. Simply put, if the readings are good then the movement is operating as it should and does not need a service.
