Looks NICE!!! Beautiful! But... now that I have seen the CF dial, when I see the squared-off indices on other dials, even the BP (and one is on it's way to me as I write this!) I just can't un-see them.

Out of curiosity, I would love to see the CF dial next to a gen in different lighting conditions - hopefully someone will be able to do that comparison!

At this point, I am leaning towards the CF dial only because I really like the more gen-like indices... to me the squared-off indices are always a dead giveaway that the watch is a rep... and as far as the dial color goes, NO dial - no matter how good it looks - is going to equal the gen...

Agree with this, the gen like indices and print are more important to me than the shade of black the dial goes. The flat square indices of some dials look horrid

The print of the BP Miyota dial is spot on, yes maybe the indices could be swapped out for some more gen like. But the sunburst is great. And when I bought it you could buy 3 for the price of this zzf dial, $170 for a rep dial seems crazy. Another negative for the Miyota dial was that it was too big for the case, it required trimming much like the ARF dial does to fit the Daytona, if you didn’t have to trim your Miyota dial then you probably don’t have a real Miyota dial, a lot of people where requesting them and being sold a slightly inferior BP ETA dial

Ugh don’t remind me. It took me some time to find a watchsmith who would take on the task of trimming the dial. I never swapped markers on my first Miyota, but the previous owner of my current franken Hulk was nice enough to swap to ARF markers. It’s a nice touch.

It's such a tough project. Now that I have the clean dial I might try it on the BP dial once I can find good indices. Finding a beat up gen dial with good indices would be nice (hypothetically). My concern is that it's a crazy tough job.

I need to pull out an old dial to practice with just to see what kind of issues, problems, tools, and skills it requires.

It's definitely one of the best OOTB Hulk reps. Best rehaut I've seen in a while. CF insert looks good, a tad light in color but that's better than too dark IMO. Need to see a side profile, the light color ring on the insert from 12 to 3 makes it look like the insert is not sitting flush. DW looks OK, centered and cyclops is straight. Magnification looks correct. Lugs look good - not too fat, good tip angle, CGs are fine. SEL recess is nothing to brag about, although it looks better than flush Noob. An ARF bracelet may be in order. The hands aren't great - the tip of the hour hand lume plot is small and the Mercedes wheel looks small. The minute hand lume plot is narrower than gen with wider borders. The dial has been beat to death here, markers look great, I think it lacks some black depth. Overall an outstanding first Hulk, a worthy upgrade, or a great Franken base.
