Clean with gen crystal, I went through a few different watches to find the creamiest dial possible since the gen has a much warmer hue than the 116500. I found that a deep crystal really helps make the dial creamier if you don’t want to go gen. Shoutout to @Bobi01 for his help!

I’ll be adding a BTF bezel and choosing whether to use a BTF or VSF set of case and pushers. I have been unsure whether to swap in a DD4131 as the SH has really been doing great…

Same like my build, just waiting for an Aftermarket bezel or a BTF and don’t know which pushers is better though!

So you saying the gen crystal makes the dial look creamier ?

My gen 2024 126500 vs first batch 126500 Clean.
Being member since 2017 and knowing all main flaws of the most famous watches i can easily say that it's impossible to spot the rep.
Maybe you can have a chance if you have both in your hands and 2/3 minutes of completely calm to compare them.

It really is a very good rep from clean, no doubt - if you cant compare watches side by side, I guess no one will spot the rep.

But, at a side to side comparison, you can see some „little flaws“ - the colors of the letters printed on the dial (clean can‘t even reach to the perfection of the darkness and sharpness of the black text and even (much) more recognizable the red of the word ‚daytona‘), the bezel engravings are perfect at the gen, not at the clean (f.i. the 65), the word ‚daytona‘ is not perfectly located at the rep (the gen has centered it perfect to the little markers in the subdial, clean‘s went minimal to the right), the crown and pushers are different … but, as I said: No one will ever spot these things, if you dont compare next to each other 😉

Important addition to my former post:

There is NO perfect watch - none GEN is perfect, nor any rep is or can be perfect (in our very critical eyes and views, when we search for a flaw - 99,8% of people dont care or ever never recognize little mistakes, not at a GEN and not at a rep 😉 ).

Even the shown GEN at @FiliGelli pic has 2 ,flaws‘ which I spot at first closer look (ok, very close look 🥹)

First (imho really visible) one is the little crown at 6 - it is not centered, far to right from marker or the marker is not centered (clean did here a really good job btw.)

Second thing that never should happen to a big player like Rolex is: The number „9“ in the left subdial @9 is much to close printed to the white inner circle, so it is not centered at all - also here clean made a good job, by not copying every mini wrong detail … 🙂

I bet, I could find 2-3 more „flaws“ at both watches … but that is not the thing.

The thing is: clean made optically a very good rep that should satisfy every buyer and wont get spotted in daily use and life by 99,8% of the people, even these ones who are interested in watches - no direct comparison, no spotting any flaw 😀🙂

P.S.: And if the left watch should be the clean rep - the flaws in this post are for clean and the other ‚flaws‘ from former posting are at the rolex, although a gen never can have a flaw compared the the rep (colors … ) - it is a gen and must not copy any other watch [but then it should never happen an ‚engraving fault‘ in the bezel (@65, at least the 5 is much to thick and unclear) - so I cant tell 100% sure, which one is the rep and which one is a gen … both show „flaws“ in some details compared to the other 🧐 - AMEN 😁

One more proof for a really, really good job from clean …

😂

Good point - this was indeed the first time, I looked so closely and searched for differences - I guess, because you said in your original post, no one can/will find any differences or flaws … normally I dont go 🧐 or search 🤓 .

And btw. thanks a lot for your tip concerning a partner - but I am married since 17 years and we have 3 kids together, and I am enjoying it every day, so I am neither bored nor lonely 😉🙂

It's a bit tough to make any real inference as the picture is low quality and differing angles, but the sentiment is correct: We spend so much time looking for perfection in our reps we often forget the gen isn't perfect either!

Offtopic:

Just took a pic of my gen submariner (only changed date wheel to a red one) … to show that a GEN is not automatically ‚perfect‘:

The crown in the rehaut isn’t centered perfectly … some users would not accept this watch getting QCs from TD … 🧐

So what is perfection? 😵‍💫🥺😉
