Clean 126500 Daytona review

After 26 days I finally received my black 126500.
Great watch out of the box.I love it. Maybe best watch I ever got.
The watch wears bigger then my BTF 116500. I love the bezel.
Winding feels very good, No Rotor noise.
Regarding the crystal, it is not bad but compared with the 116500 BTF
it doesn‘t look so good. Showed my wife both watches and ask here which is better.
She picked my old BTF because of the crystal. I may get the white one too.

I had been thinking about a Clean 116 4130 as many people think they are better looking and potentially a more reliable movement but this is causing me to think about a 4131 Clean 126.

I don't have a rep (or gen) Daytona, but I do have a gen D-blue deepsea. I really want a high quality rep Daytona which has the same sort of feel good factor as the gen. I have that with my amazing ZF IWC Big Pilot (and I have a gen IWC to compare with).

This looks like it has gel-like feel-good factor.

I don't whether to wait for the 126/4131 to improve or take the plunge.

I simply prefer the the 116500

it is a completely different watch.. more bigger and less comfortable. Yes the dial is very nice but I prefer the old case style

I enjoy both.new and old.you have a new thing to appreciated the old thing and opposite.just like peoples love steel daytona over ceramic!

The crystal is a major updated from Clean.pretty clear no haze effects

No shit where in amsterdam? I live their myself aswel. I insured my gen pieces for this type of stuff but still I hope those guys look into the wrong end of a pistol

I’m curious if the stock BTF crystal has underside AR?

Clean has clearly upgraded their crystal on the 12 series. It is good enough that it doesn’t need to be replaced. This is particularly true on the black dial. But it’s still a long way from a gen crystal.

I look at the issue that way: this watch is like a great meal and the crystal is like the wine that you’d pick to go with it.

The stock CF crystal is a wine that wouldn’t ruin the meal.

The deep crystal is a wine that is better than the stock CF crystal but that, for some, might not be appropriate to pair with that meal (kind of like a good Chablis with spicy meat).

The gen crystal is a great wine that compliments perfectly that meal and brings out all its flavors.

Some palates don’t really care about wine and do not find the premium to pay for a great wine to be worth it. Similarly, some eyes won’t find it to be worthwhile to upgrade to the gen crystal.

Nikz has recently replaced the crystal on my black dial 126500 with a gen one. When we were discussing the matter he told me that in his opinion the stock CF crystal was acceptable on the black dial and that the difference would be more noticeable on the white one.

However, he was surprised by how much difference it made after he replaced it. He said that “it transformed the face of the watch”.

Yes, BTF has 1 layer of AR under the crystal. This is why I see such a big difference.
This is my first Clean, I used to buy BTF. After all that reading I guess Clean did an

Agreed. Once you go Deep you can't go back.

Clean stock 116520 and BTF stock 116519 - both are not as good as deep
