With very fine No: 0000 or finer steel wool. Soaking the steel wool in a bit of wet baking soda helps even out the process. Practice on other brass or bronze objects first to get a hand on it. Get a hold of a cheap cast brass garden faucet from your hardware store for instance.Don't use a rotary motorized brush or anything that spins. it wont look natural. Clean it off slowly with a caressing type of movement, with a little pressure as you go. You will see the results evolve. Good luck.

QUESTION: Why are buyers trying to clean their PAM 382 ?

Do you imagine gen buyers or AD cleaning a gen PAM 382 ?

I really think that some people getting a ZFac PAM 382 don't actually like the patina in your watches and clean it trying to get a nicer patina again.

I have seen some Bronzo gens in person and the patina was nice, uniform and discreet.
I have seen many pics of rep patinas and usually are uneven, very noticeable and many times ugly or awful.

I have to think the material is not exactly the same or something is happening with the reps.

When you want cleaning your current patina, be honest and admit you don't like it and you are looking for a nicer one starting from scratch.
But most likely you will not get it.

I repeat: Do you imagine gen buyers or AD cleaning a gen PAM 382 ?

Where are you getting this information about gen owners not cleaning their 382 patina ? I'm very curious. I've read threads , followed users on IG and other social media sites that not only post pics after their gen 382 have been cleaned , they also share the products they use. So I have no idea where you have come up with this. Owners of other Bronzo watches do the same thing.

Where the bluegrass sways!
Ale's statement sounds to me like he is suspect of the quality of materials used in production of this watch??

Has anyone heard any updates on the KW release of their Bronzo?? Man it is taking an age to get it done I wonder if it will ever get finished??

Sounds to me the ONLY reason KW said their bronzo was about to be released was to hurt the ZF release. Last I saw a week or so ago the dials were done. I give it another month.

And that huge lot of bronze parts we saw had a huge amount of patina. Are you saying they won't clean them before they sell it? If it's natural and gen like why clean it...

it's totally bias & not true saying that bronze watch owners don't clean up.

i ketchupped up my 382 a week ago cus i want to experiment and see the bling, but it doesn't equal to disliking the patina. i know friends enjoy going through this bling-patina-bling-patina cycle just like me. it's just a rinse & repeat.

Ha ha! My curiousness started something close to an argument. BTW I love the patina but considering people are soaking their watches in salt water. I was just curious if it went too far if you could step it back. That's all. I'm assuming the zf is at least water resistant. BMW did you do a pressure test first. I've had two reps get fogged out inside just from careless hand washing (not Pam's)

No I did not. This watch has very few points of entry where you could have a leak. But that's just me rolling the dice. The great thing about Bronze is that you can soak it in sea water like I am doing, or make it look like new again. That's the part of the popularity of these watches. If you want to let it be, that's great too. The possibilities are endless.

Please don't get me wrong
A gen owner can clean their watch, of course, but he would make that only because he doesn't like the patina not trying to get a better patina. It is the same with a bronze statue, you will never clean the patina, but if you like the shiny bronze, you are the owner and can make as you want.
Indeed if I had a gen PAM 382 or 507, I personally would clean my gen because I don't like strong patina.

Anyway this is not the point of this thread.

We need just to know if the rep gets a patina the same as gen, because rep is made of the same material

Rep factories using same alloy as the gen? I highly doubt it. Even $1000+ gens get supplied with inferior materials sometimes, remember the Helson Shark Diver? They took it to a 3rd party laboratory and the alloy was different than what the supplier provided in their certificate. Quality bronze alloy is quite expensive.
