From a frequent watch buyer point of view, yes, I realise reps are not originals, but even the obviously fake bad reps I bought arrived in pristine condition, heck even the reps you buy on a table by the side of the road in Bangkok look pristine, this is the first time someone tries to give me a damaged product, so I thought I should share my experience and hopefully prevent someone else from losing money.
I'm on my 3rd watch order from Hont, everything went smooth with the first two watches, great communications, easy payment, QC, delivery and so on, super happy with them.
In the weeks leading to this problematic order, again great communications, back and forth, asking questions getting good answers. So i converge on the Rolex Yacht Master (the VSF version see * link removed* to know why I wanted it) which he had in "24h QC" (super excellent right, who wouldn't want their watch faster), I paid and waited patiently for the photos.
The QC photos arrive within 12 hours, but unfortunately the watch looked like it had been rubbed against a brick wall, it had scratches on the bezel, the crown was damaged as if it was turned with a vice-grip and the bracelet looked used and dirty. A completely different quality to that of the VSF version Watch_.fz showcases.
So I highlight the defects and shared my dissatisfaction with him, a bit of push back saying it's new and that's the way it's supposed to look like, and then he offered a refund. Great super happy, wait for the money and place a new order and still good communications and felt cared for as a customer.
I provide him multiple reimbursement methods, USD bank account, WeChat Pay RMB account, HKD account, but he completely ghosted me. Now it's been 2 weeks, he reads the messages but does not reply or acknowledge them, and of course no refund.
So yeah, it's a really shitty situation, so buyer beware.
From a sales person point of view I totally understand that it's unpleasant to give refunds, but he could have offered to use it as credit for another watch, or a discount for me to take it anyway, but he only offered a refund and then kept the money and ghosted me.
In hindsight, I suspect my mistake was the "24h QC", which I now think that those are watches that haven't passed someone else's QC and he's stuck with them, hence why the photos are super blurry on this site.
Hope this helps someone.
