Im genuinely curious. If you guys arent checking for indicies alignment, then what are you guys looking at during QC?

Indicies alignment is the only thing that needs to be QC'd. Eveything else literally never changes. Like you guys said, they always use the same indicies, the movement. The movement is mass produced and probably is not going to vary much, the bezel is fixable even once you get it (only a Daytona atleast).

You already know how the dial and bezel looks before you order it and you cant change factories so it cant be that.

You guys really never check for alignment?
Well yeah, of course we do (duh) but one factory doesn’t have ‘better centred pins behind the indices’ vs another… that’s just a bit too lunatic fringe - even for this place, which is saying something.

Because QC is for glaring defects... a scratch on the watch/dial/crystal the bezel having a hairline crack.... the printing is off and maybe missing a line on the minute ring somewhere (true story I've seen it on a Daydate GMF), timekeeping/amplitude bad.... rehaut scratched.... these things are REAL examples of QC issues I've actually seen

Alignment is quite honestly the last thing I check and unless it's egregiously bad I never RL because of stuff like that

I guess its just me, i just expect the the dial to be fine. Hairline scratches, I dont think you can see those in QC pics.

My Gen 116613LB had a hairline scratch that I had replaced by RSC, it cost about 70USD to replace from rolex. It was so small (though I couldnt unsee it after I once saw it) that I didnt even know it was there until a full 3 month after I owned the watch.

As for scratches, I honestly dont mind them at all i guess. Your watch will get scratched within the 1st few mins of you wearing it anyways.

To each his own I suppose

I mean literally thats why the forum rules says QC is for you only... we all tolerate and look for different things in QC

So you’d GL a watch with perfectly aligned indexes and an amplitude of 200 degrees when fully wound and dial up on the time grapher?
I dont know how to read a timegrapher but Yes absolutely I would take a perfect dial with a sketchy movement than a healthy movement with a flawed dial. Because the movement is easier to fix than it would be to find a perfect dial. yes actually.

Also, at the very worst, I can still salvage the dial and get another rep later on and just use the perfect dial on the new watch.

especially for copy rolex movements, theres literally a dozen shops where I am that service replica rolex and can get replacement parts.

Have to say I'm mighty impressed by the BTF on first impressions. If only the subdials were a tad thinner.... It feels great and the DD4131 is buttery smooth per dandong movements. Will post a short review and sunlight pics when I get the chance.

thanks for your feedback! nice pics! it looks fantastic to me, if only the sub dials were a little thinner it would be perfect! maybe the glass should be replaced with a Deep?

It's BTF crystal, I actually think it's passable out of the box, but for sure Deep will be swapped in eventually, I need to order it and visit my watch maker, I also need to realign the bezel

I hadn't noticed the bezel, it's not much, but I would actually do it too. Out of curiosity, is the bezel only fixed by pressure? As for the crystal, I also think it's fine, but in these images with large angles, a Deep crystal I think makes the difference in enhancing the shine of the sub-dials and hands

It's not even that big of a difference, not even mm, we're talking about 0.1mm or less lmao

I think the comparisons of subdial thickness (me included) were a little hysterical, having it in hand it's not that bad

Looking at this video

I actually think BT is the closest out of the 3..... if you can get one with great subdial printing

Its not the problem in 0.01mm thicker subdials, problem is if they update in the future, knowing you have thicker version will make you crazy hahahah

It's human nature to chase perfection. Quite frankly I stopped bothering so much about this stuff. If I did I would have bought Clean's latest v3 GMT, but I can't be arsed. My v1 is good enough

Quite frankly the only improvement for the dials needs to be that they don't have that "sheen" that gen does. Look at this picture

If they really do release a better dial I'll just swap it in.... for me not a big deal since I have a watch maker.

I think that for the black dial btf and vsf-sbf are in play, clean is out for the too narrow sub-dials, with the numbers eaten by the edges and the silver color a bit dull. btf has them slightly too big, slightly brighter than clean, but a worse crystal than clean. vsf-sbf from the few photos we have seen it would seem that it has the right size in the sub-dials and a good shine. I would like to point out that vsf-sbf also has the DD4131 like in the btf. we just have to wait for more photos and maybe a nice comparison with gen from a TD like The One Watches or Ctime

I Just made up my mind. I am going VSF.

My core interest is mainly sub dial, I think VSF has closest subdial too. With right color. Only thing I envy about clean’s subdial is, it has depth and it seems like it only has inner ring trim on the edge of black subdial which make the whole difference.
