Constructive. Thank you

I just deleted it. I don't feel like another touchy person jumping in.

Touchy ? how old are you ? This isn't the school playground, if he wants to know what others think of his cases let him ask - he doesn't need you running back and for between us and him, whispering in his ear what we said about him and his work.

I believe an option was to just say nothing. You don't always have to say something snide or condescending you know. It's an amazing trick. You don't like something, then ignore it and move on. I literally tagged you as an expert to get your opinion. Won't make that mistake again.

All this brushing as per gen is still a theory to be honest. We have reps coming out of factories with very very good “brushing/polishing as per gen” bracelets such as the new ARF Daytona’s bracelet among others. This is something that is very hard to prove in pictures and can only be seen perhaps with Macros. And to be honest, i have yet to see a bracelet polished like THIS by any of these modders:

Well I just have to say, it is worth whatever the person that is having the work done thinks it is worth. I bought a brushed bracelet from Johnny Depp and it was outstanding! If there wasn’t a custom risk with sending him stuff from Conus, I would send him all my watches to be brushed. I am definitely willing to pay his price because with how time consuming the process is I think it is a bargain. Time is money Gentlemen and I sure as hell would not work for $25 an hour and nor do I expect these modders to. You couldn’t pay me enough to do what these guys do.
That being said (and no one really cares what I think anyway), if we did have all these great Modders on her willing to do this work this wouldn’t even be a good hobby because we would be forced to except the reps how they come out of the factories- Not that good.

So we don´t do any Hocus Pocus at Watches ;)
Every Watchsmith have there own Receipt to Rebrush or Repolish the Watches.
All i can say is, even Johnny or I or someone else can Rebrush an Watch in 2mins ;)
Everyone have learn there own Technique at the Polishing.
The Real Job (Polisher) have an Teaching of 3 Years here in Germany. It´s an offical registered Job.
The most Watchsmith don´t have do the Teachings ;) so the learn it by Try and Error Principe.
It´s not done with Buy only an Brushing or Polishing Wheel !!! There are many Experience needed to get the right Brushes and Lines to an Watch.
If you use the Abresive wrong you can Destroy more then you did it right.

An very good Exsample how Time intensive an Complete Rebrush is you can see at the Thread of Manon... RIP Manon !!!
He was an really great an good Watchsmith he had all Machines that are needed to Rebrush an Watch to the GEN Specs.
But Manon had her Machines in the SWISS and he didn´t use it for the Rework of all the Customer Watches.
And his Results was absolutley nice. They had there own Character.
But it´s too Bad that he pass away :( it was too early. But some nice Members of TRF etc made an nice Memorial Thread where you can get an Idea how the Work had look like.

and on the Rolex forums they're still telling people to use a green scotchbrite....

This are pics of my gen 216570 next to the old ICHS rep... The difference is almost non existent...there is certainly no color difference between the base metals...

Unless the factorys are putting out some real shit, brushing isn't much of a tell, but as always, it's your money and peace of mind.....

Ok,
I'll show you my brushing making a comparison btw my GEN HULK April 2017 never brushed and my TC LV brushed by me.
First of all you have to consider that here we have two different type of steel 904l(hulk) vs 316(tc) so it's impossible to replicate the exactly effect but....

I've noticed over the years that a smaller wheel with the right grit give a much more gen like effect as the smaller the diameter the more broken up the brush lines are. Like the gen brushing you'll notice the brush strokes shorter but still in parallel with each other as the smaller diameter means a shorter stroke of the brushing wheel in contact with the metal. A larger diameter wheel means more surface contact at one time leaving longer brush strokes which I find inconsistent with the genuine brushing from factory. The photo of my brushing with a larger wheel vs the
factory brushing. You can see there is a grainier Finnish with the gen which is more consistent with a smaller diameter wheel. The red arrow side with the clasp lock is the gen side

Even in those pics I can see that the watch on the right, the steel is more yellow than the watch on the left.
