Got the blue GF from TT. Very nice indeed, but the lume is weak (ok on the hands) and the bracelet is average on the case side (the mesh is not deep enough). I installed a nice aftermarket mesh strap, but unfortunately lost the advantage of the nicely executed Breitling clasp.
Nice, maybe not worth the price.

Edit : oh, and yes, it is 20mm at the lugs

After reading all of the feedback I’ve been tempted by this one but in the end I’ll stick with my GF SOHII 42mm, stunning piece.

Still waiting it to come back from a relume + aftermarket AR coating. But here are the pics I received.
Again, I find the factory lume, bracelet and AR unsufficient, pity.

At the end I wonder if it's not better to get the OF version, but I have never seen pics of it nor got feedback on the crystal, lume and bracelet

Interested by the GF version. Do you think that the movement could be swapped with an ETA 2892 (as per gen) ?

I don't know how interchangeable the 2824 and 2892 are, but my GF has a 2824 in it. It should take an ETA 2824 with no issues.

I can't remember if we mentionned that, but the GF version has no ghost position for date setting : worth confirming :)

There are a couple issues.
The stem position is different and will need a thin spacer on the dial side to put it in the correct position.
The movement ring is slightly different and will need customizing to fit the movement correctly, along with that it may be short in the case if it is a compression fit and you may just need to make a new one all together.
Assuming you are trying to use the existing dial you will need to check that the hands clear correctly because the pinions may be a bit shorter than a 2824 depending on the version of 2892, a dial with raised markers may not work but painted should.

I swapped a 2892 into my a2824 planet ocean no problem. Dropped right in.

Thank you all for your answers. Probably still getting the GF version and will definately get a gen ETA in it, I'll probably ask my watchmaker to have a look before buying the Eta movement.

If anyone has a picture of the movement of the GF version, it would be appreciated too!

If you swap to an ETA, don't forget to ask to have the DW removed to avoid troubles, and possibly make the crown ghost position mod if you're a perfectionist :)
Also, TBH, the dial deserves reluming (not the hands)

But also TBH, I don't see the interest of a gen ETA.
Most A2824 are good. My prefered are the Seagull ST2130 and PT5000, known for a top accuracy.

I find with most reps it’s good to just use it as is and if you still love the watch after the honeymoon, and the a2824 needs a service, or the hand feel/winding is crappy and driving you nuts, then consider a gen eta.
Most of my a2824 have been great, including my GF ‘57

Completely understand. My a2824's are also very reliable and run perfect. I just prefer to try having the best 'as gen' experience and/or having the most reliable movement
