Can anyone confirm or deny whether or not a gen crystal can be installed. I imagine with all other parts (ie insert) it should but
Don't want to drop money on it if its a list cause...

As you saw... My project is pretty much solid
But a gen crystal would take it to the max and would love to add it.

Big Reason I ask is...
I have a lead on gen 16600 crystal for under $200 and need to make a decision whether or not to jump on it.

Thanks.

I believe that SURF tried to put a Gen crystal in his BPSD,,,,,,
But it was to small i believe,,,,,PM Surf,,,,he can tell you all about it,,,,I think if you epoxy it ,,,,,it would work!

I must have missed it if there's been a previous post, but does TC's dial go in the BP case without being trimmed? Anyone have a side by side of a BP dial and the TC dial? Is it that much better? Thanks guys...

Followed that discussion now for a long time. Wanting to start the project now as well. How can I find out if the TD has a BP version? Would prefer puretime. Thanks for your help.

I might be wrong, but I don't think PT carries this watch.

I normally use then as my dealer as well, but they don't list this watch on their site.

The TC dial DOES need work or the case itself which I found easier as the dial is already so delicate why risk it?.... It's a miniscule amount of metal that needed to be removed but IMO if you are comfortable with how to disassemble and reassemble a watch and change some hands there is no reason you can't build this watch yourself... I spent too long on mine and I'm giving it to my dad and I'm starting again and letting Katt do it all from the start. But have a go, what's the worst that could happen :)

No, either dial or case need about 1mm taken off to fit the TC dial. General consensus seems to be TC dial has slightly better printing and less likely to be crooked markers, AFAICT there is almost no difference to the naked eye.

There is a difference trust me... Subtle. But it's there, the printing is definitely more crisp the lume is smoother and 'whiter' the marker surrounds are awesome... BUT the BP dial is good straight OTB if the markers are all straight I would NOT change it especially if your date is aligned don't fix what ain't broke

When the dial is under the crystal and your checking the time from 2ft away the dials means sweet F all we're really talking loupe and 2" away from your face type differences

R2D4 are you around? Just wanted to confirm you bought your M3 0.3 pitch tap from china and it worked out alright for the TC tube, found some for $28 usd delivered, but I remember you said the 0.35 worked as well and they're much cheaper to buy.. Any info would be appreciated

jordan, do you confirm TC dial has imprint higher than BP ? I am interested the letters of the imprint are raised above the dial .. in BP dial printing is flat, it is not raised

i post pics of what I mean.

But put simply the answer is yes. But I do not believe that it's as raised as that gen photo! I honestly never took a good look.. The watch will be apart again tomorrow so I will try my best to get some decent photos and let you know my opinion.

It's not a HUGE difference but there is a shimmer and polish the TC has that is more gen like. Also, all markers are lined up perfect. My BP had misaligned 6 marker...

Man I wouldn't bother if your markers are straight... wear it for a while upgrade later is my advice.. Dial is just a bit of a headache unless you pay a modder to do it.. But up to you
