Just bought my SD…first time from TD but it will be third BP I own since some years!

Now is the right time to take it to next level, so I was thinking to (and I need your help in here mates):

1- get gen insert
2- gen crystal is worth it?
3- gen clasp is worth it?
4- new VR3135 movement to get it also waterproof
5- gen crown and tube is worth it?
6- any shaping on the case is needed and who is the man?

Keep you posted

Similar observation as me, although I have a bigger issue with the crown sitting flush against the case: this is a major tell for me, and it could affect the watch's water resistance. As the crown is sitting flush on the case, a Triplock seal is not created well.

I previously installed a tube onto my BP 16600 which I thought was gen but it turned out it wasn't.

Therefore, I obtained a gen-spec swiss 7030 tube to fix the problem where the crown was sitting flush on the case. I removed the existing tube from the case, then I took a drill and drilled the tube hole to create a recess for the gen-spec swiss 7030 tube. Once the drilling was done, I installed the new tube with some threadlocker, lubricated all the gaskets, and reinstalled the gaskets. Now my gen crown doesn't screw all the way flush with the case.

(Health and safety: never wear slippers when drill and razor blades are present)

This is awesome. Thank you for the info, sir.

Which movement your watch has originally? SH or SA?

Asian 3135, and it’s on its way to replace the movement for a VR3135 and a gen insert. Will post pictures once it’s back :)

Hey everyone, quick questions: will a WSO bezel/insert fit the BP SD? Is it worth buying?

My BP insert was glued in, I removed it to install a gen insert, but the gen doesn’t fit. I could glue the BP insert back in, but was curious about WSO bezel/insert combo.

I purchased a TC seadweller bracelet years ago to put on a BP SD...just never got around to picking up a SD. Do the currently produced BP SD still fit the bracelet without issue? Sorry I haven't been keeping up with changes over the years.

So I decide to dubble-bubble my BP insert back in the bezel, but not before trying a little ghost fade. Not the best, but I like it for now (until I source gen bezel/insert combo).

Soaked in bleach for about 10 minutes but didn’t see the desired effect so I *lightly* brushed with a scotchbrite pad. After the glossiness was removed, I soaked again in bleach for about 15 minutes. Dried, then applied a tiny bead of epoxy on the insert and pressed it in.

I hate to ask a newbie question, but for the versions of the BP you can still find, is there a preferable movement? Trustytime is the only place I see with any listings for the 16600, and it looks like depending on the dial I have a choice between 2836, 2813, or 3135. Not planning on modding it, just gifting it to someone who likely will wear it till it dies

If you’re not really going for mods, I’d say just get the 2836.

I got the 2824 QC pics in. I've never needed help with QC before but im not sure what to look like with these vintage models, especially when it comes to identifying which batch it is. Is this a good spot to ask for help or is there a better spot?

For example, the date wheel seems off center, but im not sure how much thats expected with this model. Or the crowns on the caseback seems sloppy, or maybe I'm being picky? But then things like the crown guards or the clasp code, I'm not even sure what to look for. Feel free to nuke if this is the wrong spot to ask

Yeah i know. I just really want to make sure this is the "good" one with the nice bracelet and decent bezel. So kinda leaning on the experts a bit. If i didn't care I would have just bought of dhgate you know? And i know BP has gone through many many versions. Curious if this is different from what people saw before
