Yes, an A2836 or Eta 2836 would be much easier to mount in the watch- same diameter, very close stem heights. You would just need a new set of eta hands and mount the dial with new feet on the back, or dial dots on the spacer; you’ll also need to transfer the date wheel overlay onto the new movement or get a 2836 date wheel in Rolex font in the correct position for your dial.

You’re the man! thanks for this amazing support, love this forum and love you guys for this GEN feel in this rep world... one last question, can I use the date wheel overlay from my 2813 SD on the new A2836?

Yes, carefully remove it from the 2813 dw by sliding an xacto under it and cut the glue.

This is definitely BP's best watch in their 5 digit lineup. It's awesome and wears comfortably for the summer with an aftermarket Oysterflex. :) I wanted to share since I finally found this thread after reading through it a few months ago. The 16600 was my first rep and I always come back to it haha!

Everything is still stock except the bracelet with an A2813 movement. I'm planning to buy two more with the A3135 with a VR or VS 3135 swap later on once the movement gives out. One to wear daily and the other to keep wrapped up and displayed in a box. :D

After reading through this incredible thread, I finally joined the club. Bought M2M on one of our brother forums. Has a gen ETA 2824-2 inside. I was worried about how it would wear on my 6.75 inch wrist, but I think it’s great! It actually doesn’t sit as tall as I had originally assumed. I have a gen insert, in blister, coming in the mail soon. Hopefully I won’t have to sand it! Do you guys have any other suggestions for mods?

thanks, i threw the stock bp insert in concentrated bleach for around 3 minutes first then rinse it with tap water. I repeated the process until i got the desired fading

I may have to try this. My insert looks a little bent from a previous owner swapping inserts unfortunately. It’s almost unnoticeable though.

This is my Modded BP 16600 with A2836 movement, it has a gen insert, drilled lugs, relumed hands and slightly modified crown guard.

Anyone know a fix for this issue I have. The crown on my BP 16600 seems to screw in too close to the case to the point where the edge of the crown is almost flush with the CGs.

In photos of the gen and some of the watches I the thread the crown is supposed to stick out past the CGs a little.

Similar observation as me, although I have a bigger issue with the crown sitting flush against the case: this is a major tell for me, and it could affect the watch's water resistance. As the crown is sitting flush on the case, a Triplock seal is not created well.

I previously installed a tube onto my BP 16600 which I thought was gen but it turned out it wasn't.

Therefore, I obtained a gen-spec swiss 7030 tube to fix the problem where the crown was sitting flush on the case. I removed the existing tube from the case, then I took a drill and drilled the tube hole to create a recess for the gen-spec swiss 7030 tube. Once the drilling was done, I installed the new tube with some threadlocker, lubricated all the gaskets, and reinstalled the gaskets. Now my gen crown doesn't screw all the way flush with the case.

(Health and safety: never wear slippers when drill and razor blades are present)

The gen-spec swiss 7030 tube is installed.

The gen crown is not sitting flush against the case: you can see the small areas of gap.

Hey guys, I acquired a gen insert. What technique do you suggest for sanding the insert to fit?

Quick update on my click spring woes. I ordered a new gen spec click spring and compression ring from eBay and was disappointed that it didn’t work. The original assembly from BP destroyed itself. The watch was sitting in a drawer for 6 months until I thought I’d have another go. I tried filing the inside of the compression ring as it was too small (incredibly difficult as it’s so thin) that didn’t work so I ended cutting the inner circumference with nail scissors!

Pleased to say it fits and works much better with the new click spring and feels more solid.

i don't recommend modifying the gen insert because it is kinda destructive. Instead, maybe use a 200 grit sandpaper to patiently sand the inner circumference of the bezel. Trial and error until your gen insert snaps in

Gotcha. I’ll give that a go. Thanks!
