Asked to exchange the watch I posted QC pictures before, as I knew those flaws will annoy the shit out of me.

sorry guys for my intromission: I would like to know if this seadweller from puretime actually exists in real life. this is unique sd with Reault imprint ... I have not seen any sd with decorated rehault . is thias watch actually produced by rolex ? i think to go with SD because hope itt is more closed to gen. than sub-c....

No gen 16600 has ever been made with the rehaut engraving which for me is one of the many appealing things about the BP SD. Not only is the version you have sited effectively fantasy, but that rehaut is way too wokky - you could fry some chicken chow mein in that!

I got in a few gen crowns today that i bought off (rsh) . The crowns look like they may work on the BP SD tube. The tube looks like the same size of the gen tube i have.
Has anybody tried to screw down a gen crown on a BP SD tube??

Didn't work for me. I tried to swap out the tube for a gen spec one, but the bp one did not want to come out. I'm leaving it as is for now...

Yes! But did you try to screw a gen crown on the BP tube??

It looks like it would be so close! Thanks for the feed back. I guess the tube will have to be changed and the case will have to be retap'ed :facepalm:

guys, I think this video is very interesting for us. on left replica .. I believe that the defect is the matte black dial and not luminous hands .

I hope with TC hands and dial, it is much closer to the original. What do you think?

i read Clark hands fit on 21j hb.. but i don't knows for TC hands...

Just a heads up for those planning a Crown-Tube swap with TC's or Gen/Clarks equiv.

The BP case is drilled and tapped to accept an M3 X.35 Pitch tube. The TC tube and the Aftermarket Gen tubes are M3 X .3. While this might not sound like a big difference, it is actually a "no-go" without the proper threads. I contacted CaskerCo about this because Otto, Casker, Esslingler all sell a .35 pitch tap, which will not work with their .3 ptich tubes. .35 is an IFI standard size which explains why they all carry them. Esslinger probably thought I was nuts and replied that they can get the .3 pitch if "I" wanted them too. lol, I bought tubes from all of them. They are all .3 pitch. So they can do what they need to do but..me.. I vote for the proper threads in the case.

Don't believe me? Buy a thread pitch gauge and see for yourself. ;)

I re-tapped the case to .3 from a .35, it's not ideal but it holds extremely well if you do this correctly. The TC and the Gen tubes are longer than the rep anyway, so you have twice the thread engagement into the case.

I elected to order one from China. I found a seller on Ebay who sells them. Honestly, I bet he knows what size Rolex needs and the percentage of gens needing a re-tap is probably next to nothing anyway, so no one has ever challenged it. (that is my theory, anyway.) Or, all of the Aftermarket/Gen tubes are wrong. :lol2: Go figure.

Thank's me and mitch has had a long talk about this trying to figure this out! So thats a awesome post and very informative! Thank's for stopping me mess something up! LOL! If possible i would like to know the out come of your Gen' crown quest?? Thank's again! That was awesome input!

Mine took a Gen crown. PB said it took some modding but not sure how in-depth it was. The cost did not increase so I never asked. I know mine is waterproof.

I am still butt hurt over my Gen XTAL experiment that cost me!!!
