People may think that because there is no cyclops it's not worth getting but it was a big difference from my stock BP.

My BP had a cloudy chamfer and sat too high.

The chamfer on the Gen reflects light really nicely.

I have no gen crystal but I couldn't agree more with regard to the stock crystal.

I replaced it with a 3 euro flat mineral crystal and the watch looks so much better despite the inaccurate crystal profile and thickness (2.5mm whereas gen and BP stock crystals are 3mm thick).
It is obviously a temporary solution: I would be happy to find a 2.7mm thick sapphire crystal with the proper bevel.
The other option is Adrian and a wso crystal.

I install a click spring from cousinsuk but I am not very happy with the result. I will tro to bend the spring a little more, bezel turns too easily, sometimes without even a click

The neibourhood looks lovely :) And lovely wather too. I'm jelous.

My Wife was just talking to her Mom in Toulouse and apparently it 2 was celsius there...So I guess I shouldn't complain about our funny weather, Though it did drizzle here a little yesterday in the middle of the day.

Can you please share a link for the crystal you are using now? I guess it didn't need case modding right ?

Of course no case modding required. It's a standard flat crystal.

No pictures on CousinsUk website.
https://www.cousinsuk.com/product/250mm-cousins

However, it's inaccurate but clearer and shorter than the stock crystal. That's not a surprise, sapphire crystals reflect more.
It is a simple test to figure out if a good quality mineral crystal represents any improvement over the stock crystal.
A decent quality sapphire crystal with 1side AR coating would be the best.

2,5mm is too short, 2.7mm is ideal but harder to source.

i was curious about the dimensions. the link you gave me shows all the crystals that are 2.5 mm in height. Can you tell me what dimensions did you go for ?

Seems you're obsessed by this watch [emoji39]
I'm working on it ... dial design is finished but I have very few free time for watches those days.
So just wait a week more and I will put some nice (I hope) pics here ... a Sub dial modded cause I don't have any SD dial but the process would be the same.
Caseback will come a little later but it's the easy part indeed.

@manodeoro
another project in pipeline? :)
What about a 14060 Submariner? Is there a decent watch base for such a submariner reference?

Lol.... It's a BP classic with Yuki dial and hands. Kenny relume. TC dwo. Used to have a TC Crown but it got busted. Currently on a rep Rubber B, but I also have 'winter tyres' in the shape of a TC bracelet.

Are yuki's hands and dial better than TC's?

The Polizia Di Stato is just a fun test ... to see what's possible and what's not

:clap_1:

I cannot believe it! And I thought I was out of control with my watch passion :D

Seems theat watch could be a no way because of the dial opening.
I'll create a specific thread about the 14060
