Is the gen insert really that much of an improvement? What else do you recommend except Tc bracelet?

Yes it is. Not only the pearl is of. The printing on the insert is much too fat.

It's not massive, the BP is pretty good.
The font is slightly too thick on the BP and the print quality is not as good.

Yes I think so, too. Only problem is that the gen insert is not a direct fit to the BP bezel and must be sanded a little.
I did not know that, best to get the Gen Bezel too then [emoji6]

That's exactly the point I decided to order a gen bezel. As far as I know Adrian's way to sand the insert is good and you don't see that it is sanded when he has finished his work but I see pics from other so called modders where you can see a small silver ring on the outside of the insert. So if you don't have a modder who knows how it works, better leave it as it is.
Ah yeah it really is a visible difference! So swapping the insert by yourself is not a good idea then?

I think if you have someone who known how to sand the insert right, it is a nice upgrade anyway.
I never saw a good aftermarket insert for the SD and even when you find one you never know if it fits the SD
Looks fantastic, this is just with a gen insert and everything else stock BP? Thanks guys for your great responses!

No not quite.
Gen spec crystal, TC tube and crown, TC submariner bracelet polished and brushed, TC dial and hands v2 or v3 and had everything relumed, TC DW and Adrian put in a 2836.
My advice try to look for a gen crown and than tell me because i'm looking for one haha.

tc has an sd insert available now but I haven't seen one yet. Other than that there is definitely no other option besides gen. The bp insert is not so bad tbh, I'd say the crown is a bigger tell than anything else.
