Until now I was sure to please Adrian to drill holes in the lugs of my SD. Now a friend told me that the SD with drilled lugs all have Tritium dials and hands?! Is this correct?

look on some websites that sell genuine 16600 sea dweller, with lug holes you should also get a flat 4 insert
so is it ok to have drilled lug holes but not have the flat four insert? isn't it possible a 16600 with drilled lugs would have had the insert changed during service? I was thinking about having mine drilled but I already have a non-flat four insert
I think it's ok. Usually the SD with drilled Lugholes come with T-Dial and flat four insert - please correct me if I'm wrong.
The T-Dial have been switched to newer Dials during the service from rlx. That's the cause why many don't let rlx service their older SDs (and Subs etc) with T-Dials.
The inserts can easy be switched as soon as they are scratched. So their is no need for a flat four on one hand...
So at the end there are many variations. Cases with Lugholes and without. With flat four inserts and without...
Look at the top right edge of the bezel on the first picture and how the tool marks are horizontal, I have never seen a Genuine with horizontal tool marks (The lines in the scallops) Do you think this could be rep or non factory replacement bezel, usually the tool marks are vertical.
And yes I totally agree and the best vintage websites will tell you if a service part has been used such as new hands, dial or once I even saw a service case. So you could most certainly have a pointy four with lug holes. but if I remember correctly some of the older 16600 cases or maybe it was 16660 had a polished HEV....OMG this is tough.

I owned a gen 16600 k serial with lug holes and luminova "swiss only" dial. I had to sent to rolex for overhaul while in my posession. Never once did i bother to consider if the dial was a service replacement or not. I dont even know what a flat 4 bezel is. If you want drilled lug holes just go for it. To hell with being historically accurate to factory specs.
I dont think he would have asked if he wanted a "Do whatever you want" answer. He clearly cares.

Welln im putting a red yachtmaster second hand in mine. Im bored and dig shi%s and giggles. As for what is seen in gen, with these older watchesn I have literally seen every possible combination. If your looking for the most common thats one thing but if your just looking for something the "could" exist, just do whatever you want, its ALL out there in the wild..
