no possible comparison whatsoever. The 2824 feels solid and is silent, the caseset is much smaller and has no resonance at all unlike the other 2 You mentioned.

I have several A2824s. No ticking at all the only sound I can hear is if I hold it near my ear and give it a shake I might hear the rotor turn.

Please excuse my questions as I'm sure they have been answered somewhere in this 313pg thread. I've done my best going through it. For the BP Seadweller, I understand it is a great rep with modifications. If I choose to just get the ETA clone (2824-2) model and refrain from mods, how is this in terms of quality. If, I did decide to go the modded route, what are the mods best needed for a "closer to gen" appearance and feel (I really hate using that phrase) and in the end, what kinda pricing should I expect to see?

I was going back and forth between the SeaDweller and the Sub-C. I decided against the Sub-C due to the lack of Platinum Paint (I know there are mods, but I am not wanting to deal with any mods right now).

You have to be under 30 to hear a watch movement tick..........;)

rhaykal, it looks really good as is from what i can tell. but i'm a noob.

seems like the consensus on this watch would be to a. replace with gen crown and b. replace with gen insert.

i'm not sure how much each of these things cost, so if another member could chime it, it would be great as when i get this watch i may be interested in doing these mods as well. and this way i know how much it would cost approx.

edit:

just took a quick look on ebay. seems like a gen crown is easily 200-300 and a gen insert is $150-200.

both those mods would add about $500 to the cost of the watch. i guess i'm ok with just wearing it stock out of the box.

Unmodded Seadweller, just to re-take a look. Might be these are already posted somewhere before. Imo the money for modding is better invested in a TC as long as You´re building up Your collection. If You are a veteran downsizing after 2 Years or later, it might be an option to keep this one and than start putting all the mods to it.
Always consider there often are complications when modding and You end up spending even more or with a broken watch, broken crystal, broken stem, bent hands etc.

Mine off to Adrian again for further updates - TC hands/dial and gen bezel inlay :D :woohoo:

This was the status quo when it left me:

Re-worked the CG's
Supplied and fitted genuine Swiss eta 2836-2, timed out and running strong.
Drilled the case to accept "fat" springbars ( not too happy with the quality of this latest batch)
Supplied and fitted my own custom click spring
Fitted Clark hands
Re-tapped the BP case to fit TC crown tube
Fitted TC crown and tube.
Fitted TC V4 DWO
Supplied and fitted eta 2836-2 stem
WR tested to 6 bar ( all was good)
Greased the crown gaskets and rear case back gasket
Shaved the bracelet end links to fit the case lugs
Re-polished the case, including lugs

Quick question. I searched as good as i can using tapatalk ;-)

I have a BP 16600 with the asian ETA. I also have:
TC 16600 hands
TC 16600 dial

Is this an easy fit? I heard this might need an different DWO.

I also have the tc crown and tube but will keep this in my parts box untill im comfortable enough to try that.

Thanks in advance guys!

Quick question: just got this watch and was wondering what can be done to it. Will a gen insert for a 16610 fit this watch or do I need to find a gen sea dweller insert?

I know that the answer is probably somewhere in this massive thread, but...

16610 insert won't work. Need SD or 14060 insert. Gen crown will work if you tap and re thread for gen tube. Gen crystal won't work. Gen dial works.

Where can I find a replacement/aftermarket bezel? the previous owner of mine tweaked mine a little when trying to replace the insert, so now the rotation is uneven
