Mine came from Sead. But with this hibeat asian movement. It's definitely not a copy of 2836.

I have both the BK DWO and the TCV4 DWO
I wanted to use the TC DWO...But after talking to (rsh) which will be doing this build
He said the BK DWO would center better on the Swiss 2836-2 which is the movement that's in this version! Now if I was going to swop out the movement's ...Which I got a Swiss 2824-2 H4 canon.. The TCV4 would be better DWO because it was designed for the 2824-2

You cannot do a simple change between 2836 and 2824 because stem height differs about 0,45mm. You will risk stem damage caused by twist and bow.
I don't believe that TC's and BK's DWO differ anyway because datewheels of both movements are identical considering outer and inner diameter. Only height of datewheel is different.

That doesn't make a bit of sense to me. The date window is in the same place and the date wheels on both movements are the same diameter. If it aligns properly in one movement, it'll align properly in the other. An overlay is an overlay is an overlay. To use big words, it's movement agnostic. It can't tell what movement it's been stuck on, be it and ETA, a 21j, or a Seiko movement.

The only difference is the 2824 date wheel sits lower on the main plate and the overlay can rub on the movement gears unless you are careful raising it up slightly. That's why I normally try to use a 2836 date wheel on a 2824 movement when using one of them in a Rolex rep.

Doesn't make seance to me ether ? But I have been told by two watch modder's on this forum! That was the case!
Go figure? I don't care as long as the font is decent on the DWO and the dates are centered...I'm happy!
I leave the rest to the pros to debate?

KBH is correct as usual, all eta 28-- series date wheels are interchangeable with each other. As stated, there may be issues with movement or dial clearance but they do index to the same point.

Iirc Rudy is talking about the printing of the dwo as discussed by a modder comparing the installations of both overlays.... Not the wheels themselves. If you were to read portions of tC's blog you'll see where he mentions the alignment issue on the v3, and for the record gen date wheels aren't always centered either my 16800's date drifts all over the date window

Is the dial feet in the same position on both movement's? I believe it is isn't it?
They may be a hair difference on the way dial sits on the movements?
I know I have read stories here that members have had to cock the dial just a hair slightly to one side or the other to get proper alignment ,,I have read this story about TC dials on his clone movements and also heard the same story with members installing TC SD dials on ETA movements as well...Either way what ever the issue! I hope I can get good alignment on my TC SD dial and dates! Nothing is more worse than crooked date and dial alignment !

I feel you Rudy, my current date wheel on my sd is way off. That's the reason I hardly wear it

Dial feet position is also the same on all ETA/clone movements. It's much more likely that the dial feet are wrong than the movement plate is wrong. And, it's probably 99% more likely it's the date wheel or overlay.

I think most people have a tendency to try to move the dial to fit the date wheel rather than moving the date wheel. One of the blessings of using a gen dial with the feet removed is it's so much easier to tweak the date window and center the dates.
