Rudy - BP looks nearly identical to the gen. Comparing the 16610 insert to the BP SD insert and thought the same thing.... but nice to see a 1 to 1 comparison.

I'm curious how it fits... the BP (at least mine) is glued in... does it friction fit into the BP SD or are you going to have your watchsmith do the swap???

I will report back to you on this one...Because this version of BP SD is slightly different than my old version...I can tell by just looking at it....The last time i tried it myself..(Installing a gen insert in the BP SD) I grinded on a brand new Gen SD insert for 3 hours...I cussed and swore and lost a little religion that night!..Finally got it grinded down enough to be glued in..LOL!! ...I swore i never try that again...But i did a week ago and scuffed a brand new Gen 16610 insert...So no more installing Gen inserts for me! Just cant keep from shaking my hands so much!///
Plus i got a great guy to do this build for me...Hes been kind enough to make room and time for my project...So i will let him do the heavy lifting..It will be a few more weeks because im waiting on TC parts for this build...Just got the tracking...So a few more weeks....I will let you know the out come!...I have read it has fitted without any glue or epoxy ...and i have also read it had too be customized to fit....I would say variances in these watches on the specs,,,At least that has been the case with the four i have owned!

Yeah, I don't blame you. I've heard they snap in also, but wouldn't be surprised if they had some wide ranging tolerances on their parts.

OOOh trust me there are tolerances on them...I have runned into to many troubles before...LOL!!
I got to much money in this build to be doing guess work...So im going to leave this one to the experts!..I will post here with the results after everything is installed...

KBH, the SSD Xtal is the same size as the BP SD 29.4mm O.D, so yes it would fit.

Rudy & Co the gen bezel insert can be trimmed to snap fit in the BP SD, but take my word, trim it on a lathe, not my hand.

To all, the Startime replacement Xtal is better in chamfer and shape than both the stock BP and the WSO

My gen insert snapped right in on both the SSD and then lastly on the BPSD. It was the same tight fit on both of them.

Good luck with that. I ordered a blue insert from him last year that came in an ugly purple color. I tried to send it back and he told me no guarantee on the color match. I left him negative feedback and now I'm banned from buying from him. He'd be a last resort for anything as far as I'm concerned.

There's a reason he's called "Mr. Slimeball" on other forums.

Greg, i'm sure Sead will get another caseback for you. At least you can work on everything else and just put the replacement on when it comes.

Look how close the stock insert is compared to gen.. Thanks for the pics Rudy. I'm still blown away by the stock BP insert and pearl. Whoever made those pearls needs to produce them in mass.

Click spring isn't bad. I agree that bending the stock one for more tension made for a decent feel. The bezel has nice overall proportions and scalloping, I think some of you guys may be over thinking it a tad. The watch is really good out of the box, Some of these mods seem like they will yield diminished returns.

KBH, your eating too much protein!! , I couldn't get it in without shaving it. Not much granted but there was no way it was going in there. One thing is for sure, every case measures slightly differently.

@ado where on the back of the insert you trim with a lathe???
There is only one member here i know in the US that owns a lathe, and thats JMB over at RWG.net

If I had a lathe, I'd have tried opening up the rep bezel instead of shaving the gen insert.

KBH, Gets mighty close to the bezel teeth if I were to trim the inside of the bezel, I'm not saying it cant be done, but best practice is make the shaft fit the hole !

Rudy, The reason I use the lathe is because sanding a bezel insert never gives you a truly concentric finish, in reality sanding gives you a multi facetted circle which is not the best fit on this particular item

Got any builds going KBH ?
