Gen insert is very close match with the TC dial and hands. Lume brightness and color when glowing is exact match. Sorry, no lume picture.

Matt your SD looks stunning. Personally I wouldn't fret about the bezel click - mine feels solid enough with a hint of play, but I've handled gens with worse slack.

For anyone who really knows what to look for they'll spot the chamfered crystal before anything else. Just strap it on to your wrist and enjoy

Sorry guys, but TC dial in my opinion is green too and i can say it from my TC submariner.
In the day light, rolex lume is always white, while both TC and BP dial always have a tiny green charge...
I suppose would be possibile to relume the dial with correct lume, without gong gen...
A other work for Ado...

@KBH
I don't know about the TC SD dial yet getting ready to find out because the build I'm doing consist of gen SD insert TC dial!
But in my WM9 I got a TC KH dial and gen insert and the Lume is super close?

Well... If we speak about the lume when it's charged I totally agree with you Rudy.
For example when I enter In a dark room coming from the daylight, insert dial and hands match perfectly.
But when I look at the watch when I'm outdoor, pearl is 1000% white and all the rest is a little greenish...
For me this is a big problem.

I agree with you totally! This is one of the reasons i bought a TC dial is to have those really white in the day light markers!...I had a TC SD dial before but it never got mounted in the watch...But the markers looked really white in the day light...But never got to see it in the watch!
I hope its only variances in the dials...and not all of them?

My other Rant is the CG's on the newer BP SD cases...Which on the old cases the CG's was closer in shape and crown seat didn't have the CGs running into it...But on the new ones the CG's are fatter and more gerth into the crown seat..which will have to be shaped and worked to get it to look right!

Here's what I'm dealing with!

azy7age9.jpg

The CGs are fat on the bottom and not fat enough at the top! You win some...You lose some! But if the CGs can be rounded off a little more at the top...Which there to long anyways...It will look close!

Well, on my TC SD dial, if you stare long enough and hard enough or look at both through a loupe, then yes you can see a slight difference in color.

But you'd have to be super anal and have possibly have advanced OCD to ever notice it. I'd have swore they were the same until I looked through a loupe.

bwahwahwah! Why isn't my $300 rep exactly like a $6000 gen??? bwahwahwah
:picard:

But I do agree about the crown guards. I should have re-shaped mine a touch when I put in the new crown and tube. I thought about it and said, nah, close enough.

But over all the watch looks really good compared to what we was dealing with a few years ago...I still like the old SSD cases because of the crown guards looked good and could be worked to look close...The only down fall was the bezel assembly not being gen construction..Which you could still work around that...But the SD reps has come a long way!..just wish they quit playing with the molds and leave the CG's alone!...LOL!!

Like i said you win some ...You lose some...The real question is it worth changing the dial?...Its all about how anal you are!
For me its worth it!

Rudy, what are the chances that the SSD crystal would fit in the BP case? Ever tried that?

Edit: Never mind. Now that I look closely they are too close to make a difference.

Rudy, I think that as soon as Ado will come back to me I'll ask him to relume the stock dial with the closer to gen lume he can find.
Worst case I'll go with TC dial...

Arrrgggh! Got all my TC parts and my Gen insert and now my BP SD arrives in the mail today. (1) The insert is popping out at the pearl - that's really not a big deal, since it's getting a Gen insert. (2) This is what is bothering me - the caseback engraving is all over the place! It's not centered at all, and the "gas escape valve" is touching the edge, and not centered like it should be in the polished area. Hopefully Sead can get me a new one, because this one is terrible.

I received my gen insert today!
I figure I would do some compare pics for reference for some new members here that have PMed me about the difference!
The difference is clear the font and the pearl..but BP SD insert is one of the best rep insert I have seen ...right up there with TC's and WM9 insert's!

As you can see there isnt much difference between them....Not enough to pay $200 like i did...I think if you could buy a beat up used gen insert for the gen pearl or find a gen pearl to install in the BP SD insert...You woulds be set!

I haven't tried it bro! Thought about it once but didn't follow through...But i think Ephry might have tried it...He is also a big fan of the SSD cases...I dont think it worked though because he's got a WTB add over at RWG.net for a SSD crystal and gasket?

Rudy - BP looks nearly identical to the gen. Comparing the 16610 insert to the BP SD insert and thought the same thing.... but nice to see a 1 to 1 comparison.

I'm curious how it fits... the BP (at least mine) is glued in... does it friction fit into the BP SD or are you going to have your watchsmith do the swap???
