That's the reason your generic works Turbo, you have the older version of the BP SD, the newer ones don't have the long click in them anymore, they use a short click similar to generic. Lets not forget there are several version of the BP SD out there, just look at the crown guards on the newer ones to the older ones, also the dial is much better on the newer versions.

Correct. I have had both. The older version had the PITA bezel (very difficult to take off) and the bezel/crystal retainer area was different. Also bezel itself had a different construction. The newer version looks very decent under the hood. I still think a thicker gauge of wire will be better than the standard click spring ones. I'll have to play with piano wires one day. E

that's bullllshit!
he will prey you. for the dealer the profit for the old swiss is much higher. got it?!
change the dealer.

Bro I totally trust Sead %100 And this comes from buying 20 or so reps from him without any QC pics ever! ever! Never got a bad piece knock on wood!!
He said that was all that was available to him at the time was Swiss movements!
He would have got what ever version or movement I wanted him to get.. if I wanted!

Me and this dealer is very very close bro!
And he has a big amount of trust in me and I have the same with him! So no one is pray here bro! And soon the movement option thing will be hindered! It's a coming believe that!

I got the swiss, as that was the one that was available at the time. It ended up being less reliable than A2836's i have in other watches.

I had it serviced, some parts need replaced and it needed a good cleaning and oiling and now it works perfectly.

If you plan on getting it serviced, go for the Swiss, if not get the A2836, in my experience they are more reliable out of the box, as most of the Swiss ones are old movements.

Have a look at the link below, to the review of the work I had done on my, it shows some photos of what state the movement was in before the service.

I would pick the asian. Still needs a service but it's is not the ticking time bomb the "Swiss" can be. The asian otb can be very reliable. If you're looking for a keeper, get the one with the asian movement, wear as is for a whole then when you're ready to mod, have the movement serviced and whatever parts you want upgraded. The money spent will be the same, just won't hurt all at once.

pretty sure BP is sticking old Swiss ETA movements in both the asian ETA or swiss ETA versions. Since you will get the same movement, opt for the Asian ETA and save money. Or, you can get the new breed 2813 and swap a fresh ETA 2836 from your own source.

When I got mine, I ordered asian ETA and got a Swiss ETA that ran for about two hours before passing into the afterlife. My guess is I would've got the same exact watch had I ordered swiss.

And to add, Ado213 knows his stuff. My click spring hole was too big, came with the latest version short click spring. The watch would not accept aftermarket replacement click springs, they would just fly out of the hole and lodge under the bezel. You can simply tap another smaller hole and run an aftermarket click spring. For me, I shortened the already short BP spring and bent it to a more extreme angle for a firmer feel. Not as good as it can be but it's good enough for me. I may tap a new hole if I ever get the bug to do so.

thanks rols and kohr , I am in the same boat as rudy ( dealer says the bpsd is only available in swiss refurb )

rols , that is impressive , do the TC hands look good with the BP dial colour wise and lume wise ?

how much for the service and replace hands from the guy who did the work ( you can pm me the price if you like )

Yeah the hands match the dial perfectly, and the lume does as well when charged. Can't remember exact amount. But he is very reasonable, top class work as well.

ephry , why do you call the swiss a "ticking time bomb" ?

From reports of "gen" movements being put together crudely from a bin of "gen Swiss" parts. No proper lubrication/cleaning/service. I have received two watches in the past that ha new rotors put in and the entire winding assembly and main plate were covered in crud. But the movement was Swiss. Not from the dealers mentioned here, but this led me to hay stick to asian movements from the factory and source the gen ones myself then swap, or service the clone. The clone movement when serviced its a locomotive.

One good thing about Sead is ...I know if the Swiss movement go's belly up!....He will replace it ..If there isn't any hope for it at all!...I have owned more Asian movement than swiss and i know the asian is a better work horse....But its all a gamble with any of them...And trust me i know!...LOL!! After a couple of hundred reps!LOL!!

But this is one of my most favorite reps i have owned...And have built three of them already! But never took the build this far before.I have put all my marbles in one pile on this build...I have done talked to @ado about build and what i want to do...I have also bought movements from him in the past and know if there are any issues he can replace it no problem!
I just bought a brand new Gen SD insert this morning from @alberto.86 on RWG and done got a order in place with TC for the rest of the parts...The watch is inbound from Sead..As soon as all my marbles are in place off it go's to the UK..It already looks like this build is going to be more funds than the WM9 V1 i just built...But it will be a fun toy when i get it!!

Rudy,

gen on top, teeth space is larger, and the entire bezel construction is different than bp. bp satin and gen is shiny and smooth.

yep, the problem is that Wso bezel is not visible from the front. I asked for more photos, they said do not have.
