So we cannot swap the BP dial with a gen one? Someone tried to put a gen dial on and can confirm if fit or not?
The BP 3135 dials are 27.8mm

A gen 5 digit Sub (and GMT) dial is 27.3mm.
The BP 3135 case rehaut opening is right at 27.2mm. So on paper a gen dial could fit if the movement was placed exactly centered and anchored so well so as to be immobile.

In practice, this is a totally frustrating effort that can easily lead to scratched dial edges or scraping away parts of the minute tics. Shown below is a gen 16713/8 dial placed in a BP 3135 16610 case for demonstration purposes. Some of what you see in the first two pics is light reflections at the dial edges but in the third pic you can see that the dial outside edge is showing through the rehaut opening.

I have done this successfully before with a different dial and case combo but it isn't fun. I custom filed the movement tabs to be exactly the right length to prevent any movement travel and wedged some dial protector plastic strips (can also used thinned crystal gasket pieces) in between the case and the movement.

I am so excited. They also did the Sea-Dwellers

So excited for the 16613.

Decisions decisions… can a 6 digit VSF sub crystal work in a 5 digit?

Great to see another 5-digit Sub available as I am still looking for reasonable GEN-spec case, but it's a shame if they haven't changed the dial/rehaut diameter! Will be good to see some QC pics on here when the first one lands.

@arna67 When I put a gen dial in the old 16613 BP with 3135 movement, and found that it didn't fit to look nice. My gen dial would've looked much better in the watch if the gen dial was slightly bigger. I think the BP dial was larger than my gen by just a fraction so there was a rim of nothingness between the dial and rehaut when i added gen dial haha.

Sorry, I hadn't seen KJ's superb post before scribbling about my attempt at putting a gen dial in one. I'm excited for the black 16613.

Thanks for info...now is clear for all of us that put a gen on a BP case is not the best option...

If someone wants to franken a 16610 now, the best affordable option is Silix’s ARF case from Alibaba. Unfortunately minimum order is 2 pieces, but the price for the whole case is 200€ including ”everything” (crystal, bezel, crown, etc).
IMHO BP’s are not worth frankening, because of the weird lug chamfering and shape and the non gen spec bezel assembly. And also rehaut engravings. BP cases were like 29€ in Aliexpress just while ago, but I haven’t seem them in a while.

Nice to know. Worth checking out. Buying two ARFs at 200€ is not a high hurdle if it is that much better.

Does Silix’s ARF case accept a GEN tube without re-drilling/tapping?

Not for Frankening, ofc. But not a shitter either. The wider lug chamfers are much more noticeable in pics than IRL.

The Alibaba 16610s are Sillan, not Silix. Silix used to be a TD here and elsewhere, now defunct. They sold both low price models and super low price economy models which many modders used as bases to make much nicer reps.
