Your example is not fair at all, those are from a different period, back at that time you can change from a Pepsi to a Coke insert with no problem. Nowadays you will be treated like a criminal. That era of no waitlists and not all this fucking hype were GMTs retailed for around half of nowadays is over.

Moreover the history behind them always been shady (the least I can say), in fact serious vintage dealers refuses them since ever.

smoke made a dial guide where he differentiated 6 different dials. I will take a look this afternoon.

Color never changed in the 10 years of production. That’s clear.

Yes, I believe there has been quite a few dial variations over the past 10 years. If you haven't read the post below it is a good read on the variations. In 2018 alone there were two different dial variations. I have an early 2018 gen bluesy and the dial on it matches the guide in the link below.

Hi guys, need your help.. i have ordered this watch basically for the perfect dial, insert and sels.. but after reading the last pages i was hoping at least in good sels. Here is my qc..
the sels seems not good, the recession is not uniform (i ve seen on this thread a lot of beautiful recessed sels from the case till the end)
Thers is also that gap that i have circled in red. Also the lugs are not good (look also when the lugs meet the first bracelet link) What do you think? I am exaggerating or this is enough to reject it?

I had the same problem, but my gap was way wider than yours. I rejected it, I’m waiting for a new one.

Yes, I know about dial variations, not specifically of modern Subs it’s not so interesting to me a 1 milimeter displaced or a slightly elongated “F”, I think there is more interesting dial variations in the steel sports Rolex genre.

This started because somebody said that color changes over the years of production, and it went totally off-topic and degraded with some members posting their whole QCs and another quoting them with several photos in it.

bro you are 100% right, the dial is not as good as the pictures show, AT ALL! and that dude smoke, who makes many people buy them, said even the v2 is very very close... the dial is an instant tell but the bezel got closer thats true... the watch overall is not close to the real thing... but if you buy a black submariner, we are closer

I don't think Smoke pretend someone to buy only by his reviews or comments, I appreciate how he contribute to get the best Rep you can get. It will always be a Rep so expect flaws.

Exactly,on the pictures what i saw is that sunburst lines are not as smooth as gen and a little more gold but overral very close,i wouldnt say anything that bezel is 90% color of gen but this looks like 70-80% when comparing with gen
so ineedhelpnow send us more pictures please as soon as you can,outdoor and from many angles

by reviewing something and not telling/showing the truth is like manupilating someone do buy it! and dang! its like buying clothes on the internet that looks good on pictures and when you get its not even close. Smoke manupilated many people that it was very very close, please let him see the picture with the gen side by side, which someone just posted... and lets see if he still says its very very close...amateur

The 12 o'clock triangle is super crooked i feel like.. Other than that the watch looks quiet good, but i'm sure this will be bother me so much as it's right next to the small markers so its super easy to see that its off centered..

What would you do ?

Understood. I posted this not necessarily directed at you, but rather to those that have stated in this thread that there have been no dial variations to just a few variations. The link to the post I posted gives a very good description of all of the changes over the years.

mate what do you have against smoke. Do express your opinions and POVs but keep other members aside. Every one is entitled for their opinions.
And if people trust smoke's reviews for whatever reasons, you make your reviews to people like yours or follow you. Even at that time you don't get right to offend or point fingers at any member.
