Bezel and Dial Review of ZZF V2S 116610LV Submariner and Comparison vs. Gen, ARF V3 and Noob V10

Yesterday finally received the ZZF V2 after 1,5 month due to Covid19, the watch was shipped on April 13th.

I agree on most comments and in comparison with my ARF V2 2836 these are the most obvious differences:

Positif
The dial is much much nicer, color + reflection..ARF looks more plastic and cheaper.
The date fond, ARF looks just fat in comparison.
The round-off markers 3,6 and 9..the edges on the ARF are sharp and square.
The lugs are more elegant, ARF more boxy.
Color and finish of the bezel are just a little better and sharper.

Negative
Reflection of the date window is more noticebable with the ZZF and for me the biggest flaw.
The bracelet is ok but needs some attention, I cleaner it and waxed it. With a Dremel I took off all the sharp edges and now it feels like ARF.
The function of the clasp is not so good, not smooth at all, greasing didn't help.
Winding is a little rough and releasing the stem is also not the smoothest.

Overall I'm very happy with the watch, I couldn't live anymore with the ARF because of the glossy dial, square markers and fat date fond..these things combined became to much for me

So a gen xtal and an ARF clasp is really all we need to do as a mod to the zzf v2s to have an excellent Hulk. This is what most people have said and is what [mention]smoke [/mention] said from the beginning. My mind is officially now made up. Thanks guys

So i received my ZZF V2S yesterday too.
It took exactly 37 days from placing order to shipping to germany by JTime. Wonderful.
The Watch in overall is fantastic.

Color IRL is nuts. Its almost 95% genlike imo.Sure dial don't have this gen style black but the insert is really good.
Movement is silent, works smooth and pulling the crown works also perfect.
Datefont is good. No need for change.
Crystal is good for a rep, I guess. IMO its crap. The reflection on cyclops is bs. A gen crystal is a must have (for me).
Idk what's the problem with the clasp for everyone, It closes really good.
The feel of the hole bracelet is absolutely cheap. (Compared to my old JF v2 NoDate what has a real solid feel on bracelet.) It feels a bit like the vintage subs.
But to be honest, after 5 min on wrist it doesn't bothered me at all.

I wore it on a trip to a friend who collects only gen watches.
A guy on the way noticed my hulk on wrist and stare at it like I would ware a living octopus on my wrist. Crazy.
Also I got 2 compliments in 1 hour from strangers. It is an attention monster for sure.
So arrived to my friend who's that kind of guy that hates replicas and even he was so impressed that i have to place a new order.

SO i would say.. If you like the Hulk, buy it with confidence and ware it like it is.
If you want more satisfaction, put a gen crystal on it. No other mods needed.

I think some of the conflicting comments on the clasp and bracelet are just QC issues. Within month I have received 2 brand new ZZFs and they have completely different bracelets and clasps. One stiff, a bit squeaky and clasp with ultra soft close. The other smooth, quiet and clasp with a solid click close.

Would really appreciate if someone could clear up this whole X issue for me. I went back about ~40 posts to find some kind of comparison of a dial with an X issue and one without but couldn't find one (I think I saw it a couple of days ago but couldn't find it anymore).

I received this zzf v2s, it has a clasp code of c4r but it X looks exactly the same as the ones with a clasp C4R I've seen? Just to confirm its regarding the X in Rolex?

The main reason for me trying to clear this up is that I received the incorrect watch (i.e. not the one I approved at QC - that one had a different serial & the C4R code).

Everything else looks fine to me but would really appreciate if some of you guys weighed in!

So... Got me the V2S and it really is an improvement in the bezel insert, crystal and datewheel ( at least in my specific watches). So I decided on keeping the V2 and put it on a Everest strap, as replacing the pins on this bracelets is bitchy, and don't want to damage while switching. Pics for anyone interested.

Based on this, is it fair to say that the C4R issue is independent of the Rolex ‘X’ flaw? I.e you can have the X flaw regardless of whether its C4R or the lower case c4r?

I should be receiving mine in a week or so but this has gotten my interest. Although truthfully, whether it’s C4R or lower case, it makes no difference to me anyways since it’s not visible to myself nor anyone else while on the wrist.

I have been comparing my QC images compared to my gen GMT, and honestly can’t see much difference in terms of the ‘X’. So either I got lucky, or maybe I need to have my eyes checked.

Sounds interesting, what made you go with ARF base over NOOB Base? Most people recommend the NOOB. And where did you source a Gen crystal, i put up a WTB some days ago, but no luck
