Bezel and Dial Review of ZZF V2S 116610LV Submariner and Comparison vs. Gen, ARF V3 and Noob V10

Hazing love the pics buddy! I have one flying in after Prof gets his black hole crystal on it. Question to you, having both the ZZF dial and the Gen dial in hand does ZZF dial go to deeper green-black as compared to Gen? There has been discussion on this and consensus seems to be no; I tend not to take too much stock of internet photos of side by side Gen/Rep Hulks because the angle of light hits each dial (in the same light) slightly differently. Debating about sourcing a Gen dial when mine comes in ...

Also, you paid $3 for a gen insert?? Was that supposed to be $3k?

I have the same setup and love it.

Love it. I think it's perfect short the $3k on a gen dial and $3 on a gen insert.

and to Redjack2k I was trying to say $3k for a dial, $3k for an insert. But if you want to part with that gen dial you mentioned, I’ll gladly pay $3 for it.

ARF actually has quite ugly SELs that was one of my problems with it. They don't follow the case shape. They first go horizontal and then suddenly a big vertical drop downwards. Even if it has all gen parts you can tell from the pics by the SELs it's a rep and it's an ARF. I don't know why people build these frankens on ARF case and bracelet.

Because no one can ever tell, especially if you go straight among snobs who have Rolex because they heard thats the brand you buy when you have money, they wouldnt notice a rep even if it kicks them in the face.

Yes cf/ZZF insert is better but in real life this particular ARF batch is VERY close. Almost identical colour. I am not taking about the difference in zoomed pictures but the difference in real life. Old ARF insert was bad. Latest batch ARF insert is just as juicy IMO.


Anyway thought it would be interesting to share.


Left (ZZF insert) vs right (ARF insert).

The difference is still pretty obviously there, even more so than your 1st set of photos.

That being said, before the CF V3 came along, ARF was the closest bezel insert available.
