My gen uses metal glides, not plastic like ZZF. I believe ARF uses metal glides as well.

My gen uses black plastic things or perhaps rubber each side just like every gen I've ever seen so far they are super thin and tiny I used a loupe to see they are definitely dark grey or black, cusions to avoid scratching along the runner edges and keep it gliding smooth.i dont think they would use metal as that would not be smooth and metal grinding on metal is a bad idea.unless your a skateboarder

Damn! This watch is just so great!! No problem at all with the bezel clicks, turns perfectly! The crystal is a surprise; it’s pretty good! Next to a gen crystal:

They sent mine 14-04. So it took exactly one month. Can't get the screws out though, ruined screws and a big scratch on the side of the bracelet. Any tips?

The green of the dial is too light, that to me is the only real flaw (ok, the lack of black hole effect, but magn is good). the rest, to me, is what it is with a replica. But it’s a looker! Especially the insert is a work of art! Now let’s see if I keep it or sell it.. love the ARF 41 DJ too much!

They both look stunning and to my experienced eye it would fool me if I didn’t know. Top job

100% Correct. All gen glidelocks have a polymer slide component.

Incorrect.

Here are your choices:

A) Your gen is missing two vital pieces. If so, you would be hearing a grinding metal on metal noise and should stop using your watch until repaired.

B) You're not looking closely enough

C) You don't have a gen glidelock

Sorry, but these are your only options.

Upon closer look with a loop you are correct. I stand corrected, it is not metal. However, it is nothing like the plastic glides on the ZZF as seen on page 124 of this thread. As mentioned above, it appears to be a VERY hard polymer. I tried to stick a pin tip into it and I could not even make a mark on it. I could be mistaken, but my ARF bracelet glides do in fact appear to be metal. They glide very easily and no metal to metal grinding. Pic below.

Interesting choice that ARF made.

If this is so, and given the properties of 904L, anyone using this diver for its intended purpose will likely seize their counterfeit glide lock in short order.

To all ARF owners who use their watches for diving or other activities that introduce dust and/or liquid, I would strongly recommend ordering some dry lube with PTFE (teflon) and a ceramic fluoropolymer (i.e., Smith and Wesson Dry lube). Works great w heavy use firearms and folding knives as well.

Look what just got in today!
I've been reading the many (MANY!) pages of this thread for weeks, with all the debates and nitpickings about this ZZF serie. Of course there will always be more or less important flaws with Xs or crown guards, but all I can say to Hulk fans is : beyond what you read here, just get one of these V2S and see it IRL, how can one not be happy with this watch? Love it!
