Thank you guys!

Between the Asian movement and Seagull, the differences are only of "internal movement" or even aesthetic?

In my experience, the 7750 movement is more reliable and better quality tan the seagull. Again this is only my experience, having had issues with the seagull and never issues with the 7750. The seagull is decorated and positioned in the case to more closely resemble gen though. Look through ALE's Pam guide to see the differences in detail.

I havent owned a seagull but planned to for my next watch. After all the recent problems though ive steered away from it.

With the 7750 make sure you follow the guidelines - no manual winding, no changing date between 10-2 and you should be ok. If you can get someone to oil it for you. ... even better!

I'm not saying that people writing about Seagull problems are wrong

But as far as I know, there is no movement with more negative, comments, threads or posts (most likely unfair) than A7750.

We cannot trust only the comments and posts. Just saying that all rep movements are liable to get problems

I agree ALE. My Dealer actually suggested a SeaGull over the A7750 movement. He said its much more reliable. If you are willing to spend $300-$400 on a rep than you should know the game and be willing to spend some money to keep it running as well. I will have no problem buying another movement/less expensive model rep with the same movement as a back up for extra parts. Lets be smart here people. Instead I read about people bitching about their rep not working anymore and this movement is garbage because of this or that. In fact the movements have gotten 100% better in the last 5 years on reliability. Instead of posting when a watch stops working and complain about it use your brain and tackle the problem from your TD and then if that won't work buy a cheaper watch for parts like I suggested and find a watch smith who will work on it. If that won't work then get on here and ask what to do next instead of bashing a watch because in the long run you probably dropped it a few times. LOL Also I am saying this with the most positive tone so please don't feel like I am being negative at all. Cheers

Apologies ALE you know an awful lot more than me and are likely right. I just got a bit spooked by how many *recent* comments I was seeing. OP if you have to choose someone to listen to pick ALE he has a lot more experience than I.

I have very little understanding of how movements work, so I can only report my experience using and experiences from others. This thread (link below) is interesting though; I started it the first time my seagull quit. Strodda clearly knows much more than I do, and his opinion is that the seagull is inferior.

Anyways, I just ordered the 438 with 7750... We'll see how it goes.

I own the 438 and a few other reps with Seagull movement - all run flawlessly.

My 438 is one of the first pre-order A7750 Tuttoneros to come out (hence the fact that it has the too short minute hand and non-flat CP) but reliability wise it runs absolutely perfectly. It also does not have the loose bracelet link issue. So I'm torn between wanting to sell it and get the latest updated version or sticking with a solid watch and learn to live with the tells (which is easier said than done!)

No apologies needed
Your opinion is as valuable as mine
We are talking about rep movements and nothing is completely sure

Hey guys,

my PAM 438 KW-V6 with 7750 is nearly one year old. Now I ordered and receive today a PAM 438 V6F with Seagull movement for a friend.

First think i noticed is the more bright color of ceramic on the the new PAM. My Ceramic looks more black. Can someone confirm, that there is a difference between the ceramic colors.

I also noticed that the fontcolor is different. My fontcolor (on the older PAM) is more yellow that on the new one.

However the datefont is still horrible :) Why they do not fix this???

ALE what do you think, which colors are more gen?

I will try to make some photos next days.

It is very difficult to show the difference on pics. On the left side is the new Pam 438 V6F with Seagull. On the right side is my old V6 with 7750 movement.

I hope you can see the different ceramic color. The new one is more gray. Also the fontcolor is a little bit different. However I think it is just because of the lume.
