Banning members for QC posting

I know I am a fairly new member of this forum. I do enjoy it here, but I must say I have noticed a lot of members getting very aggravated at QC pics being posted for public approval. So I thought I would suggest a open vote on this subject.

1st offence receive a warning from mod
2nd offence receive a 30 day ban
3rd offence permanent ban

Something to this nature is what I was thinking to curb this behaviour. I personally don't see a problem posting a QC pic to show off what you have coming in the mail. But I think asking anyone's opinion publicly of the watch your gonna accept or reject is just wrong. It's not our money your spending decide for yourself. Would you stand in the middle of wal-mart and shout out "can everyone shopping look at these socks and tell me if I should buy is package or ask if they have another pack in the back.

So should we ban this YES or NO?

EDIT: Should there be some sort of infractions when people continue to post QC pics? YES or NO?

Seems a little heavy handed to be honest mate.

New people are always going to post QC pics, because they haven't read the rules.

The best way to stop this is not to reply to the threads with the QC pics in them, people will soon get the message :)

Yes this is why I suggested a warning for 1st offence.

It would just be another thing for the admins and mods to have to police, I am sure they have enough to do as it is.

A ban is too harsh! You could nuke the post, but, as has rightly been mentioned, MODS and staff will eventually decide whether to make that illegal or not... Might be too much work for them.
I would vote no.

As annoying as it is... It is just as easy ignoring the threads than it is to open them up, read them, think fark another noob etc. then proceed to instruct noob to read the rules.. Then flame said noob because he asks but is this the best sub you can get? And the cycle continues. So although I agree with you it's frustrating, I also believe that the mods and admin need not suffer due to ignorance on the behalf of new members..

A 30 days or permanent ban for repeated posting QC pics are too harsh imo, maybe a infraction will be enough.

1/ You have to be kidding

2/ This isn't a democracy, we don't set policy on a vote

That's a helpful suggestion this is why I said something like this. I just think there should be some sort of action taken. I see mods always telling the poster there not to do this. So there having to respond to these already. So some sort of infraction for repeat offenders I think is in order. And saying its to harsh I wonder, you have been warned by a mod that this is not acceptable and you do it again. Might as well tell the mods go **** there self. So is a ban for repeat offenders so harsh?

Of course you don't set policy on a vote but you get to see public opinion with a vote. I didn't suggest you do what I say. Just getting a idea of puplic opinion. If this thread is out of line feel free to nuke it.

I think members should only be banned if they are causing harm or attempting to scam!

We should allow to show QC pics because some young members need our help...

And later, my feeling is that it can be helpfull to see how are the watches brought in QC.

But beeing to anal on the qc pics is also not a solution, but it's the guys problem and a forum is supposed to be here so that we can find some help also.. So I'm for the QC pics

The question wasn't if your for or against QC pics. The question is should there be some sort of infractions for people that continue to post threads with QC pics even though it is against forum rules. I'm all for porn videos so should I say forget forum rules I'm posting some hardcore porn?

I say we ban all plumbing mechanics. Not the mechanical plumbers though. They have shiny watches.

Or, we could just ignore QC pics being posted.

Or, we could just be nice to the noobs that post it and politely tell them the rules. There's so much more to be aggravated about in life.

Whilst I hate seeing the constant posting of Qc pics on he forum they do serve a purpose, but should be kept between dealer and buyer, there is enough posts info ect ect on this forum for members to do their own research to determine if the rep they are getting is correct and what flaws are on the rep.
Banning posted Qc pics IMHO would be a good idea, banning members No.

 members should start reading up before posting QC pic..thread doesn't stop anyone from commenting. So this is gonna hold up the dealer, and confuse the op from deciding..

I agreed what Sharky and some members above said not that i don't wanna to provide QC pics, but i won't walk away if watch has an issue...i don't mind providing QC pics to members, but if the rejection is about the bezel too shiny, pearl too small markers too far apart etc...

sorry , we will NOT accept your order simple as that.
