So when are we going to see who these dealer are so we stop supporting them? I just got a davidsen swiss pam and you guys are freaking me out haha
I recently got an ETA 2824 clone, the Seagull ST24 & was able to regulate it to within COSC specs, so I think the clones are good, now they do not have the same refinement as the ETA movts do, but I think they are good & will continue to get better. Plus if the rep Manufactures where to really do a QC or QA with each watch, I think all will be good. Now about the A7750 movt I have read too many problems with them, but then again I am not sure how accurate the ETA 7750 movts are, I have had 2 watches with them & 1 of them was bad , even after going back to the Factory for repair. but where do we get parts to repair them? that is a huge problem with all of these expensive chrono reps. no body wants to touch them and if you are lucky enough to find someone to work on them they can't get parts. i feel sorry for all these people that have bought those very expensive hbb's and the like.

Don't talk to me about these movements, they're basicaly toy movt's, not built to last over longer period. Some guys are lucky having 15 of them running just fine, my failure rate was 4 out of 6, or 66% - so please don't talk about these mov'ts like you know them or anything about them, they're pipe dreams at best.
Ziggy and Vacuum and few other noted watchmakers could potentialy extend the life of these by servicing them, but here I say - POTENTIALY, since there's neither direct nor indirect proof supporting this.
Will they get any better over time? Maybe, but as things stand these days they're crap and ticking time bombs. :x

I was about to explain how the movement themselves are actually quite good, but that they treatment they get before getting installed in our replicas is the problem. A well-serviced clean high-beat Asian 7750 is very close to a proper Valjoux in quality.
However, I obviously don't know anything about them.
Some of us (like me) never pop off the back and buy purely for looks & insecure impulse - and upgrade to swiss because we (i) think we are getting the best. So for individuals like myself we should just stick with the cheapest entry movement offered? is this the recommendation?

you buy an asian 7750.... try to find anybody that cleans, services and lubes it correctly. pay 250 -300 $ for that service.

I have had more than several A7750's, and the only one that has ever given me a problem was a seconds at 6 version that came in a Daytona, but thats a different topic of conversation all together.
The only one I own currently is in my 253, which I purchased over a year ago. It is still keeping flawless time and the chrono function, which I run a couple times a week for the hell of it, is smooth, precise, and resets to dead zero every time.
Daytona or Ingy aside, I wouldn't hesitate to keep buying them. In fact, I have a v2 Skyland on the way. 8)

Hi all, my first post here. I purchased a UPO from Ruby. Ruby states that it is going to be an authentic ETA, however, after seeing this thread, I'm now wondering. Did I make a mistake?
Subjective. If you paid for a ETA and do not receive it then you need to be compensated. I think the watch you will be receiving will be very nice in look and feel. Just need to get the movement issues squared away. I don't think you made mistake if everything checks out.
