we are talking about chrono - movements here. asian version of the ETA 7750.

the UPO.....non chrono - automatic is likely to be swiss....or a very good asian copy of it.

I feel really bad for everyone who purchased "Swiss" eta UPO's for $300 plus when I just delivered basically the same thing to members for $175..
Nice and calculated to get the word out the fastest as this is such a common watch, it will be easy to compare to those who just received clones as swiss.
This thread has nothing to do with my group buy but it certainly goes hand in hand. I delivered a watch to a good guy named Nielsen, it was an ETA 2824-2, he took pictures and it was compared to the clone and was indeed a genuine ETA.. He got what he paid for and that is not too much to ask for imo.
One of the other biggest tells is the finishing on the movement platform, the bridges, etc.. far different than a genuine eta.
I will never order a eta unless I have too. I will buy clone all the way. Just ordered a milgaus that I had no choice but to get ETA..
This last UPO buy was a real eye opener for me too. It is amazing what these guys get away with.

ONCE AGAIN I WILL SHOUT!!!! WAKE UP EVERYONE, STOP FEEDING THE BEAST!!! YOU ARE JUST AS MUCH THE PROBLEM AS THEY ARE!!!!

Really? The first 2 pages don't say anything about this being a thread for chrono movements alone.

Guys,

So can anyone post a guide to tell a fake/clone ETA from teh Real one??

I know that the Sea-Gull ST24 is a good alternative to the ETA2824-2 and the ST26 is a good replacement for the ETA2892-2.

So if you want them you will have to search. As some people on this site hate the fact that I can source items. So I am not saying I can get these movement.
regards
Dan

Fox - you might want to check the at-tee-tude at the door. The folks that created and run this place do so for the pleasure of all of us. I know you want to sell a watch (at least I think that is where I first read your name) and are a bit impatient to get your 50 posts penance completed but insulting those who expend massive amounts of time, effort and cash for all of our benefits might not be the wise course of action.

JMHO though; you do what you want.

How long before foxnt gets banned?

Well... he's already lost his sales area privileges... and his pm privileges.... so, he can't get into too much trouble can he?

@foxnt... spend some time reading and learning the rules... you're off to a shaky start but i would love to see you turn it around...

Guys,

I am sorry you feel that way. I have some interesting cotacts and possibly some stuff in the draw that may be of benefit. So don't cut off you nose to spite your face.

I was just offering something back to the group. The group is about buying watches, and about getting the right stuf for these watches. Or comming up with alterantive.

Just because I am new does not mean I have nothing to contribute. I even asked for some help on clones vs fakes and tryignt o see if anyone had a Breilting dial. I do think this isi in the spirit of the group.

So I will not offer this group anything and I will just read and take and take if that is waht you want so be it.

@foxnt... I think the most telling thing is that approx. 88% of your 24 posts in this forum are to either sell something, or asking why you can't sell something (see the sales area)...

It sounds like you have quite an impressive drawer there... and maybe I have just cut off the forum from a super special drawer full of all the parts and watches they ever needed.. but I'd rather err on the side of caution...

Where in the hell did you get that idea from?

And I was wondering why your name turned shite brown.

That's your user color when you are in the No Sale Group.. which means you have no ability to see the sales area...

Fox - your profile indicates you are from Australia but your written English would seem to indicate otherwise.

Let's try and start this off again on better footing. Please tell us a bit about yourself and your background. You seem to know your way around watches.

what about this- if the price of the mov't is cheap buy a couple of them and then replace as needed.
What is the price of these? I know a real bag sealed ETA 2824 is around 300+ but a Asian 7750?

I don't know but I think we have to drill this down because from a fix or replace point of view its probably cheaper to replace the mov't than even oil the thing. Also we are paying top dealer markup, because really these watches cost around 20 bucks, yes the "good swiss ones".

Why don't the dealers just throw in an extra mov't when you buy? I think an incentive in an economy like this would go far.

Also I want the dealers to drop the "swiss eta" because clearly it is BS. just say eta rep. don't try to fool me because the cost of a Real ETA is more than the watch.

EITHER VACHERON CONSTANTIN OR LANGE SOHNE OR JAEGER LE COULTRE

I HAVE READ ALOT BUT EVERYTIME I THINK I FOUND A SITE , SOME FORUM BLACK LISTS THEM.

just unlock the caps button, i am too tired to put caps in the right place so i just type everything in lower case. lmao

for the watches just stick with the trusted dealers here and you will be ok. the watches you listed don't have a very accurate rep as far as i know but maybe some others will come along shortly to let us know if there is a accurate rep of any of those brands.

welcome and enjoy,

ok I am kinda new so just to get this straight if there is a nice rep like the deepsea v3 and I go with the non swiss the only difference is the movement? I just want to make sure that the other aspects of the watch are the same quality because there is a large difference in price. I might be wrong but I think it is the look of the watch that is most important, secondly that is actually works well. If I can get good function in an asian movement and the watch looks great, is of a good build quality I think I could live with that. I like reps because I can get the looks and enjoyment of the gen design but with a price tag I can afford. I just thought I would ask.
