If ARF can fix the bezel scallop it will be a Super rep to me...as all the geniune rolex scallop are more refined, makes the whole watch looks a little more classy..not a sharp and pointy as the current one...if ARF can fix it, it will be a game changer for them as they can use the same method for all other rolex with bezel scallops...it should be a simple fix for them.

Actually having a closer look it could just be the spacing between each teeth...if the spaces for the ARF can be slightly wider apart , it prob won’t look as pointy as now...as more gen like...the closed spacing between each bezel teeth makes it look more pointy and sharp...otherwise all is good...hope ARF can fix this simple thing in the next version.

I promise you guys the slightly pointy bezel teeth are not noticeable in person. You could always wait for an update...if they update...but the watch is so stunning and gen like in person you don’t think about such tiny details

It is perfect the way it is for me. When I receive it I thought I might take the cyclops off but I think I will just leave the watch the way it is.

I’m with you. I prefer all SDs without a cyclops. It distinguished this model. It was its signature detail. But as it has a cyclops now we will soon forget any stigma about it. Or it will make all previous SDs more special? [emoji57]

Thanks to @m5smg2 & @mech500 for the great photos and feedback. Much appreciated

I have finally ordered, 2 week wait on these so this will most likely arrive in the new year.

This will be the first watch in my collection with cyclops and I hope I get used to it.

Supposedly it was added because the technology allows for it with the depth rating required. I will always like the SD line without the cyclops. I don't think this will increase the value of previous SD models, only in the eyes of those "purists". I really can't wait for it to be in stock. When I do eventually receive it I will post pictures here and we can all see if there are any more changes. Either way I know I will love it.

Who told you there was another 2 weeks until the next batch is released? Say it isn't so...

I ordered with Toro yesterday. He said 1 - 2 weeks . I am going by the worst case

Well shit.... Oh well if that's the way its going to be then fine. I was hoping it would be sooner then that but from the way it looks it is most certainly worth the wait. Congrats to those who have gotten theirs already. You guys will just have to post more pics to keep all of us content. lol

Yes. As the story goes, the original 1967 Sea-Dweller was supposed to have a cyclops like the Sub. But the extreme depths it was designed to endure popped the cyclops off. Today the tech exists that a cyclops will easily withstand the 4K depths. Thats the rolex version of the story anyway.

Who did you order with ?

I know Sead had some in stock but I had some existing credit with Toro so just finalized that with him.

Truetime168. Even if it takes longer I couldn't pass up the above and beyond QC she provides as reflected in her reviews.

no need to wait for any updates IMO the things that need a slight update is only the bezel teeth
but it would never be noticeable in wrist

so buy the ARF and enjoy the watch !

Looks at the gorgeous cyclops on my QC i do really think that beside the datewheel update they also update the cyclops
and the bezel teeth seems to be the same

what do you guys think about the SEL ? especially the top right SEL

Looks good my man. For a rep thats under $500 common boys what are you expecting. These are also 30 x zoomed pics - I'll guarantee a gen has QC issues at this amount of zoom.

Why does everyone say this? The Gens have a blue hue at certain angles as well.

The factorys are trying so hard for it to be close to gen but everyone has their opinions on what should be "gen". Like me, i didn't want them to add the cyclops and was determined to take it off because I wanted to stay true to the SD line. But this is the way Gen is supposed to be. Lets just leave it the way it is because it is 9/10 perfect so far. We may know the difference between gen and rep but it is so close. Give the makers a pass here on the "blue hue".
