ARF GMT 116710 SH3186 photo review

Are we sure this ARF movement is gtg?
Received mine yesterday, but this date jump function does not instill confidence.
Other problems noticed immediately:
- when setting time (position 3), there is ~20 degrees of free play in the crown. I can spin about 20 degrees in each direction without engaging the time setting function
- when setting time, sometimes the hour jumps with it
Pros: I did get a good date wheel!!
Whats the consensus here, buy a spare VRF and swap movements? Anything else worth swapping?

I really wish ARF would just ditch the SH movement and adopt the VR like GMF and V9F have done. Putting ARF hands on a VR movement is not always a given, I have had some fit too loosely to stay without pinching the hole collars. With all of these date changing issues popping up, if I were buying an LN for myself I would take a real close look at the V9F LN. A rep should work properly OOTB for a while at least. Pretty stops being great if it's broken.
Sounds good to me- Yea crystal is as good as it’ll get for a rep, dial is good IMO. Just no sense shopping for a gen insert and crystal if this is going to be broken soon.
the VRF movement is direct replacement ie fit with no issues as they’re both clones I presume?

The VR movement is a 1:1 fit to the ARF case and ARF dial. Putting ARF hands on a VR movement is not always a given, I have had some fit too loosely to stay without pinching the hole collars.

I had this issue with the GMT & minute hand. I had to crimp both collars to stop the hands from spinning or sagging. Thanks for the heads up, not sure if I'd have known what to do if you hadn't mentioned it to me previously
Same, I just had oascom fix a stuck datewheel for $40 this week. The datewheel had slipped off and jumped out of alignment with the click spring. I wasn't even wearing it when it happened. I woke up to put on my favourite watch and the datewheel was weirdly stuck in place
I've washed it before with water and had no problems. But now I'm worried that it's not waterproofed...

Do you know why it’s stuck? Does change the gen date jumper fix it?
....I am waiting QC Pics from Li (Jtime) now, but i am very worried about the mov.....i supposed that treating it gently was enough to keep it tidy, but i understand it is luck...if you receive a "good" one, probably you will have no issues....

Good question buddy. No parts were switched out, so I'm not sure. If it happens again I may go with the gen date jumper!

Datewheel no longer works properly, the date keeps getting stuck between 15 and 16. Just got it back yesterday and kept it gingerly on my table, only to wake up to the same nightmare. Shipping costs aside, it's slowly becoming a real issue.
Hope no one else has this problem. I've sunk a lot into this watch already. It's my favourite GMT so I'm not giving up yet

Yes, there have been several date issues mentioned recently. It was reported in another thread that the movement was "upgraded" and now has a blue hairspring. It was around the same time these date flip issues began occurring. The insert marker issues were infrequent but not unheard of - getting two out of three bad ones is not a good sign.
