I’ve just got VR 116710 has prof crystal fitted just bought gen dw with green numbers and gen bezel. Not to bothered about bracelet as changing to rubber strap with glidelock clasp.

Absolutely love this watch. By far my favorite rep thus far. I hope that AR Factory continues to produce such quality pieces. I followed the instructions for setting time and date stated in the gen manual and had no problems with the hour jumping feature. As other users advised I was gentle and didn’t rush the process and had zero issues. The movement feels amazing and keeps great time. On top of that the watch itself looks and fantastic OOTB. I was considering upgrading some parts, but honestly don’t see the need once I had this watch in hand. If your considering a buy, do yourself a favor and grab one ☝️.

I see what you mean about the noticeably smaller date window. In addition to the gasket, it could be your gen crystal was 1.8mm and maybe the rep was 2.0mm

Thanks for your tip, i have just measured the arf crystal and it's only slightly thicker, my caliper shows 1.82 whereas the gen was 1.8 how you mentioned.
Also just compared with old pictures and it seems the arf crystal was indeed sitting a little higher although I used the same gasket and the almost same thickness..but the difference seems really small to me, will attach two pictures, the red background is with gen xtal.. Do you think that little difference is the reason for the low mag or does the CAR-V3-C1 have lower magnification ?

KJ2020 very informative as per usual. He’s like a walking/talking Rolex Wikipedia page. I love and respect it.

Informative addictive, I know as much about my Rolex watch as i do about home Andrew truck, I know them inside and out know what's wrong know how to do it, but pay pros to do pro level work. There these ARF guys are talented. This one feels like my gen and operates and sound like a Rolex, and is better quality then previous Rollie models I've handled, particularly 70s models. The attention to detail wasn't there yet. Now we have machining to the ten thousanth of an inch, and these guys could build a rolls Royce if they had the raw material and demand to mass produce the fuck out of them. Man, math like that is painful for me, but I see its beauty.

The CAR-V3-C1 is a YM crystal but that's not the whole issue. There was a brief period I think in 2015 when Rolex decided that 2.0x would be better than 2.5x on the cyclops magnification. There was such backlash that Rolex ended up replacing them free if new owners wanted them changed. Yours could be one of those.

You are really helpful thank you very much!
That has to be the explanation of the issue, but i have to admit i somehow like it like that, looks nice on this watch imo.
I knew it Was a yachtmaster crystal but thought the only difference was the gasket as there was a 2.3mm gasket in the package and the car-c1 should have 2.7mm.

FYI if anyone was wondering; ordered a separate ARF 116710 bracelet and it fits gen 116710

Nice one bro, you just wanted to save wear and tear on your gen bracelet?

My gen bracelet has plenty of wear already, so a bit late for that lol

I actually got it for my gen BLRO. Contemplating selling the BLNR, and wanted to keep the “look” of an oyster GMT in the lineup.

Figured I could just keep the BLRO and have both the jubilee and oyster as options for it.

The ARF bracelet is really good, brushing, tightness, click of clasp, etc. But it is still a tad too sharp on the edges compared to gen. The gen bracelet feels a bit rounded off and smoother. Close tho, like 9/10 close.

Have you tried the ARF oyster on your BLRO yet? That model uses a different size springbar with different size tips and a good fit can take some wrangling I've heard.
