It's been mentioned before how fragile the jump hour spring is In a 3186, gen or clone. Be very gentle and precise when adjusting the hour, and avoid adjusting the date backwards. Read the Gen manual and follow those instructions and if you don't have a lemon doa it should work great. I haven't had mine long and I haven't put a gen spring in or overhauled or opened, but I really do think these movements are good. They feel, set, wind, tick, and look much better than the SA clones, and it is the only TRUE 100% clone of the gen 3186. I'm gonna overhaul it and install a few gen parts, but it seems to be the best Rollie movement I've had in a rep to this point. I cycled through all the dates to mmake sure there were no hang ups, twice, same with time and gmt. I do that with all my Watches OTB sort of like a test drive. Since then, keeping time to the second for over a week and I've moved into a new house and beat this watch more than it will be for the rest of its time. Only thing I noticed was a bracelet screw backed out a half turn, but every oyster I've had does that with time unless you torque them in which I avoid in rep watches. This ARF bracelet is smoother than others, so I may tighten the screws more, as they sit they are all perfectly flush. Not orientated the same way unfortunately, but after an adjustment my gen had one that wouldn't line up. Tip.. put the same screws back In the links they came out of for best threading.

I’m getting mine in the mail today after waiting a good month and a half. So excited!

btw, is there a list of dos/don’ts with this watch? I’ve heard that the GMT movements are very finicky and I just wanna make sure I don’t destroy the movement.

Just don't abuse the jumping hour mechanism as that part on the rep can be a little fragile. But the sh3186 on this watch is not the old ticking time bomb movement that you have probably read about

I just wound my watch, and the sound it makes when winding is louder than any other rep I've ever had. Is this normal?

If it's stiff and not clicky and smooth, and sounds more like a gen then yes, it's normal. The rotor should be completely silent when you shake it, and you should never really need to wind it except seldomly. Read a genuine GMT owners manual and follow those instructions, follow gen schematics while repairing, and check out YouTube ans google pretending you have a gen in your hands... if it sounds and looks and operates the same... nuff said. This ARF w sh3186 is scary close to gen feel and operation, holding theme both in my hands. AR factory dominates the Rollie scene if you want a rep. Every process to install parts I've seen yet isn't identical. Including fucking w the jump hour for fun and breaking it.

Just wondering...has anyone successfully removed a gen ceramic bezel insert and replaced it without breaking it? Mine is misaligned, just a hair and it will drive me crazy until I figure out how to do this.

I wouldn't try if it is gen insert in gen bezel :D:D Two of the most experienced watch makers in this forum refused to do mine, they are extremely delicate when pressure fit.

Agreed. Also the ceramic GMT bezels have some play, so you can get it to line up correctly without shifting the insert in the bezel ring. And just like SEL gap, imperfect rehaut alignment, and a million other little things, mis-asligned bezel inserts happen all the time on gens.

Nobody can answer me?

Possibly...just possibly, we can't understand the question. What is the "nut". Here's an attempt. If you have a bezel installed with no insert. You can install an insert without removing the bezel, thereby, not having to replace the nylon ring.

I answered my own question. You do not have to remove the bezel insert to realign it with the 12:00 marker. On my gen bezel, I noticed that the 12:00 hour triangle on the insert is aligned with one of the mounting holes for the click spring. (Rolex did this at the factory...ARF is not so maticulous) So I removed the crystal retaining ring and aligned one of the "dips" as apposed to one of the protruding round parts of the crystal ring with the 12:00 marker. (This is the wavy bottom rim of the crystal ring that the spring follows.) Now when I install the bezel, it is aligned. Hope this is clear. Very easy and does not put your $350 ceramic insert in jeopardy.

You sir are a genius!!

I'm looking at these on daily, really tempted to pull the trigger, but something tells me as soon as I, a new one will be released with a better movement and DW!!

Wishful I know.

Pull the trigger! ARF is really great ootb, dw isn't a big issue when worn on wrist actually, it didn't bother me much. If it bothers you then just swap for a VR3185, dw is much closer to gen.

How much you got your gen insert and crystal for may I ask? I'm looking for gen insert/bezel assembly and gen crystal as well. Thanks in advance!

Sorry for my bad English:)

I bought gen insert + gen ring bezel. Can I install them in the ARF? Only ceramic insert + bezel ring
