Trying to decide my next, I think I may get an ARF DJ 41, in hopes the jubilee will swap, or a VR clone omega.

Let me suggest the Omega AT 8900 by VSF. Amazing quality rep - NWBIG. Fantastic movement, gorgeous dial. Check it out in Olive Green. Will not disappoint.

This thread is killing me. I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve (a Christmas Eve that lasts 2-3 weeks) waiting for my ARF GMT to arrive lol.

Has anyone put a gen bezel assembly on one of these ARFs. I have a gen bezel. I have removed the rep bezel. Can't figure out how to put the nylon ring in the gen bezel, or back in the rep bezel, for that matter. It seems to be too big. Does it go in the slot or just set on the edge of the bezel? Does it need to be pressed back into the slot?

Please help!

I spoke to ChinoWolf about this in PM when I was considering buying a gen bezel from him. He informed me he was in the process of having someone do the mod for him and that it wasn’t a super easy process. See below:

Mike at watchservice NY is working on mine. According to him just need a gen Nylon ring.

It appears that the bezels are not just an easy 1:1 swap. You need to have a gen nylon ceramic bezel gasket. And then know how to shimmy it all together. As far as that goes, I haven’t tried messing around with it yet... so someone else will need to assist you there.

was told you need a gen nylon ring and a gen bezel clicking spring. My build just completed but I haven't received it yet.

Clicking spring works fine. Just can’t get the mounting ring in. It is exactly the same on the gen or rep. I see no difference. The ring is too large now. I have another coming.

It is beautiful bro!!!

I bought just ring and insert, so can't it be exchanged on the ARF? Need more pieces?

I’m planning to get a gen bezel ring and insert too, I would also like to know what else is needed to install onto the ARF?

Still drooling over it, still keeping time to the SECOND. Did I get the one functional SH3186 lmao time will tell.

It’s very nice, my gripe with ARF is the white flat lume they use. It’s very bright it’s off with gen Lume. Whether people notice is another thing it’s one of the first things o see with ARF. Hour markers and hand shape is fine though. The xtal needs changing for sure, the factories still produce xtals with rubbish cyclops it cheapens a HQ built watch like this.

What is the consensus on this movement? I want nothing more than a nice GMT to round out the collection, but only if it will be reliable.

My take on movement is yes ARF movement is fragile and not as good as VRF but once you replaced the jumping hour module and service it they are equally good. Also 3186's minute hand does not shake as much as 3185 when you jump the hour hand.

One main reason I didn't use the VRF as base is the finish and boy the grand canyon SEL gap. To me the SEL gap is an instant tell but it comes down to your personal preference.

Could anyone answer the question? Can the nut and insert be installed without replacing nylon ring and bezel clicking?

Thank you

This is true for the genuine movements too

3186 cured the wobbling/shimmying hands

ARF is great ootb, movement isn’t that reliable tho. My datewheel got stuck after owning it for 3 months. Swap it with a VR3185 and pretty contented with the date font. Plan to swap the bezel insert to gen as the silver paint is coming off as well.

paperplane what is going on with your datewheel!?

EDIT: My bad, assume thats the broken 3186 not the result of swapping in the VR3185

Did this happen when you reverse the date?
