Is it possible to get a gen dial for this watch?
The 12 o‘clock triangle marker is what is holding me back from buying this beauty.
Too square edges. Not rounded like gen and the whole triangle sits too high. On gens the triangle has a huge gap to the rehaut. On this rep it is nearly sticked to the rehaut. -.-
Also the hole where the hands are fixed is a huge tell. If you know about this flaw you can call someone out in under 1 second as you don‘t have to look at any other things on the watch. Maybe with gen hands there is no hole in the middle? Do you know if it fixes the problem?
Any advice if the AR coating form the magnifier is going off?
Can you explain to me what you mean with „gen datewheel as an overlay“? Do you keep the stock datewheel and mount the gen on top?

Yes
You have to trim the metal ofc to fit. That is the hard part and that is why you need an experienced modder imo
Gen 3135 datewheel as an overlay?

Received this from sead a few weeks ago, finally got around to working on it. I installed a eta 2824, gen datewheel as an overlay, gen tube, crown, and gen bezel click springs.
Date wheel install. Used an overlay tool that works great.
I reduced the thickness of the dial spacer as it is a bit thicker than needed even with the gen datewheel as and overlay. I did this to see if it would help with the mag issue. It seems to help reduce the mag a bit. Also gives the hands a little more distance from the dial.
Gen tube install. Had to tap the case and countersink the hole to except the new tube. The rep is only slotted for 1 o-ring internally so I decided to swap.
Crown swap
Fresh o-rings in the tube and crown.
Gen click springs
Back together
Few different dates
Next to my franken sub. All gen but the midcase and bracelet. The date looks a little better to me.
