Looks beautiful mate, is that a gen box??
Also let me pose a more philosophical question to the group at large;
For this particular model conditional upon changing the date wheel is it really worth spending 10 large? Is the gen intrinsically worth 20 times more purely in terms of quality and aesthetic? I limit it to quality and aesthetic because I understand when you buy a gen a big portion of what you're paying is for the brand heritage, prestige, perception and relative scarcity which is now artificially controlled through supply now.
Therefore, I do concede that a gen Rolex is definitely worth more then the sum of its parts for the points I've highlighted above but is it 20 times better is terms of quality? More importantly does it make you 20 times happier? Because that's really what I feel watches and this hobby is about.
Please note I know this is arbitrary and subjective. But I'd like to hear ppls views.
Cheers and stay safe
No... this rep is near perfect.
I have a gen and I use to have a franken rep - I sold it recently:
https://forum.replica-watch.info/fo...-crystal-date-swiss-eta-serviced-waterproofed
For your reference ^^
There was no real difference.
Gen had slightly better case... crown was slightly higher. Jubilee was higher quality, but not by much. Even the Fluted bezel didn't look that different.
The rep if you change the crystal and date wheel is 90% as good as the gen.
If you add in the dial as I did on my franken its 92% as good as gen.
Add it water proofing + an ETA movement as I did... and its 95% as good as a gen.
The gen is better undoubtedly, but it is marginal. I only keep my gen because it was a gift and thus is sentimental. If I had bought it with my cash, I would sell it particularly now, as its blue and commands a premium.
A small bit of franken work on this ARF and you've got near enough gen for 1/6th the money.
