Love it! Perfect watch with the gen date wheel and xtal. I scratched the magnifying glass a little though. Don’t know how. But not that obvious

Does the V3 have the correct crown logo? From the pictures it is a simple dash under the logo to indicate that it is steel but should not the 126334 model be white gold and have the two dots under the logo to indicate it is white gold?

The dash under (which ARF has) is the right one. Only the bezel in the 126334 is WG, rest of the watch is SS.

Looks beautiful mate, is that a gen box??

Also let me pose a more philosophical question to the group at large;

For this particular model conditional upon changing the date wheel is it really worth spending 10 large? Is the gen intrinsically worth 20 times more purely in terms of quality and aesthetic? I limit it to quality and aesthetic because I understand when you buy a gen a big portion of what you're paying is for the brand heritage, prestige, perception and relative scarcity which is now artificially controlled through supply now.

Therefore, I do concede that a gen Rolex is definitely worth more then the sum of its parts for the points I've highlighted above but is it 20 times better is terms of quality? More importantly does it make you 20 times happier? Because that's really what I feel watches and this hobby is about.

Please note I know this is arbitrary and subjective. But I'd like to hear ppls views.

Cheers and stay safe

No... this rep is near perfect.

I have a gen and I use to have a franken rep - I sold it recently:

https://forum.replica-watch.info/fo...-crystal-date-swiss-eta-serviced-waterproofed

For your reference ^^

There was no real difference.

Gen had slightly better case... crown was slightly higher. Jubilee was higher quality, but not by much. Even the Fluted bezel didn't look that different.

The rep if you change the crystal and date wheel is 90% as good as the gen.
If you add in the dial as I did on my franken its 92% as good as gen.
Add it water proofing + an ETA movement as I did... and its 95% as good as a gen.

The gen is better undoubtedly, but it is marginal. I only keep my gen because it was a gift and thus is sentimental. If I had bought it with my cash, I would sell it particularly now, as its blue and commands a premium.

A small bit of franken work on this ARF and you've got near enough gen for 1/6th the money.

Depending on how you look at it I would say:

- Stock ARF: 95%.
- With gen DW installed: 98%
- With all Sonofalich's mods: 99,9%

But those are just my personal thoughts... If we concider the CRAZY idea that most people are in fact NOT familiar with Rolex DJ model, I believe the percentage are at least this high.

Best bang for buck by far is crystal and date wheel,
-- Stop here...

For a bit more - accuracy in movement: (I'd only do the ETA movement if it's going to be your daily)

add in a GEN ETA and regulate it to +2/-2 for ~£120 more.

---

Dial if you want to go hardcore -

Depending on colour choice, the gen dials are better... but marginal.

Rhodium - stick with arf...
Silver - go gen, the arf is yellow (plus silver dial is cheapest gen, no idea why it's beautiful!)
Blue - stick with arf

Sonofalich Cheers mate.

Im going for the rhodium so I'll go for date wheel, xtal and gen Eta regulated.

Also,I've read that the jubilee will stretch out eventually which is probably true for gen as well, so is it worth ordering a spare/ extra jubilee bracelet?

Cheers.

Look at this and decide ;) You pay way too much premium for the Rolex brand name.

It's actually a lot more complicated than thay. Some people hear the system they have for like dive watches and thing it stretches across the the entire variation of models. Which it doesnt.

Switched to oyster a bit, feels so solid and strong compared to jubilee

I use to love the Jubilee... but I honestly think the Oyster looks better. IMO I'm going to buy a noob/arf submariner glide-lock clasp and add it onto the oyster. Perfect watch imo.

Here’s some pics with my Gen requested. GMF DJ41 comparison too.

GMF bezel is just too wide, plus not a fan of the finish or the lugs. ARF bezel seems very good and though the lugs have gotten much better, they are still a wide tad and bit rounded.

One question though, are the crown heights on the gen and arf the same or is the gen a little higher? Also it looks like the arf dial sits a bit lower in the case, and you see more of the rehaut wall, is that the case with gen as well?

Thanks man

The clasp is completely different so just be prepared for that. It might mess with the feel and fit if you’re used to the DJ oyster clasp.
