That is one hell of a good dial replica. Looking at close zoom pics you can sure see a difference but with the naked eye from 0,3m they must be very much a like...

ARF has done an amazing job with the Blue and Rhodium dial in terms of color reproduction and marker printing...but there is still a lot of noticeable difference in hand between gen and the ARF Rhodium ;) I bought the rep ARF and then put a gen dial. Here is the summary:
  1. The sunburst on my ARF was a bit harsh to the eye. The gen is very smooth.
  2. When sunlight hits it at the right angle, the gen markers and coronet shine is stunning. Both Rhodium and blue in ARF never reaches that level
  3. If you hold them side-by-side, you will see that gen printing is crisper and almost a bit more bold. I rotate between my ARF rep blue and Gen rhodium, so for me this is even more obvious
  4. While it is hard to quantify (because this is subjective), the rhodium dial (contrast/shine) is accented better with a gen crystal. ARF crystal OOTB is very good but gen crystal (specially with dark dials like blue and Rhodium) brings out the color a bit more

Has there been an ARF and gen comparison on the weight for the jubilee bracelet? My first thought when putting it on is that it's a light weight compared to oyster bracelet.

Hiw is the black dial compared to gen? Is the black dial the safest way to go to get the most gen like look?

Are in that thread comparisons gen vs arf? If yes I will search after it.

In this video the weight diffrences between the whole watches is less than 10 grams. 134g | 125g
If I count in the wg bezel the difference is very minimal. I think the weight of the rep jubilee is almost the same.

Gen black dial has more of a sunburst effect in the sun. Arf did a good job tho. I saw a pic of the DJF black dial on Rep Geek recently. On first impressions, it looked great. But I didn't look too long, nor am I an expert! But I'd good it a look if black is what you're leaning towards

Have read half of this topic.

I recognized that some of the gen crystals in this topic don‘t have that extreme black hole effect. They are reflecting more or less.

For example I saw the modding of Rolliearf and the gen crystal has absolute no black hole effect.

In google I saw some Datejusts with extrem black hole effects. I‘m thinking about to franken an ARF but only if the gen crystal gets that gen look. In my opinion it is an absolute gamechanger. I want to be sure that I get that effect, otherwise it wouldn‘t be an option because it is very expensive.

Can somebody clarify this point?

Left stock crystal and gen dw,right gen dw and gen crystal, what we can see here that arf crystal isnt bad and magnification is the same but gen crystal have more visible that white ring around the cyclops and clarity is better on gen

Right, my friend!

I have to say that the one on the right also has a GEN dial and hands. See the lume color, ARF is too white!

If it has a gen crystal it will reflect and have the same black hole effect as a gen (not so surprising).

If you believe that a gen crystal NEVER shows reflections on the cyclops you are wrong. No AR-coating in the world can make a direct sun light reflection disapear, same goes for a strong spotlight from above.

Whatever pictures you have seen and compared I'm pretty sure they are from different light conditions.

If you're outside in the sun, you will always see a white dot (the sun) on the cyclops. Same goes for hard lights from above).

srhoque How you swapped gen dial on ETA bro? Can you explain it in short please?

My watchmaker created a custom movement holder for the dial grooves. Interactiv has done it for other members also.

I think there is a member on this forum who just shaved the ARF case to accommodate the dial groove.

Wait is gen dial diameter bigger than ARF inner case diameter?
