I just received my very first rep, and this ARF Datejust 41 meets my expectation. I got the Grey dial Jubilee Fluted. My question to others is, does your grey dial look kind of brown? Like a slight brown hue to it? If so, does the GEN have a brown hue to it too?

yes, i felt too that mine had a "brown" tone when under yellow light

Have not compared side by side to a GEN.

I can say for a fact that the blue is not like GEN. The blue gen has a softer blue color.

Rzf makes a Wimbledon dial (SS, not gold). I've seen other members post pics. Looks pretty good.

BP has one, very cheap and with full plated middle links, including the sides. Its 21k bph though, but I dont mind that. I have the old version, with 28k bph, but with no planting on the sides.

I have been following RZF releases since it appeared in the forum. So far there isn't much reviews on it, especially the wimbledon dial. The fluted bezel isnt great on the RZF and comparing the rhodium dials on both, ARF just seems superior. And BPs have way too many flaws on its DJ41.

Please ARF, release the wimbledon dial, or at some tt DJ41s, but at least fix the datewheels!!

saxo yeah ARF seems to be better than RZF in a lot of regards. But at a cheaper price and considering the datewheel, it makes sense. I was going to get the RZF Wimbledon, but upon acquiring a GEN datewheel, I switched to the ARF. I do wish they would just update their damn wheels, as well as make a Wimbledon especially!

Sorry man. I subscribe to this thread and read nearly every post but the recent reference to the slate / wimbledon dial piqued my interest.

My question was not about the gen dial it was about the other rep factory dial (can't remember name sorry).

Why do tetchy anyway? Even if I had missed it, this thread is bloody long and updated regularly so it's easy to miss a page or two of posts if I'm busy. It takes nothing to be a bit more pleasant Mr internet warrior.

Yeah I was being an arsehole, to be fair I did edit the post before you posted because I misread your post, so I'm actually an illiterate arsehole! Sorry, My apologies. Tired and shouldn't read quickly!

But in actual reply to your question, it would certainly be worth a look. You'd need to look at the dial feet , (do they exist on the RZF version) if they do, you'd be able to grind them off.

You could see if a TD will sell you just the dial but last time I checked with my usual TD suppliers they only want to sell full watches really and sometimes if you're lucky a bracelet... but worth a shot!

Talking about all this makes me want to get the RZF anyways and compare it to the ARFs I have coming in. While it's supposed to be a much milder sunburst anyways (also slate grey vs rhodium) it seems to just lack the luster of ARF, at least to my eyes.

Apology accepted, appreciated! Thanks for the comments re: the rep dial. I'd love a wimbledon one.

I'd be happy to get the feet ground off the dial to make it fit - after all, it's only a rep. I wonder if I can get someone to swap the dials over so I can recoup the losses on the RZF with the Arf dial.

interesting comment from gilrob who mentions something about DW alignment may be an issue.

Food for thought!

If 3135 could be installed in datejust then gen dial could be installed along with gen dw and it could be almost perfect rep. Anyone did it?

You don't need the the 3135 to do that. There's examples of people doing so in this thread. And in any case the gen has a 3235 not a 3135, and a 3235 based datewindow position for a 3235 DW.

I see... so whats the best modding/franken route?

Every rep has its flaws. A two tone ARF will have a horrible date wheel and SS sides on the middle links. It will feel good, but I would be able to spot it from miles away.

For 200 bucks, this BP is a no brainer. It may have some tiny flaws and it wont be as solid as the ARF, but the full plated middle links and the better date font wont scream REP from a mile.

The BP its definitely value for money, but its flaws are things I cant live with like its case shape for example. Also if I were to go down a modding route (which is unlikely), the BP isnt as versatile. Besides the details and quality on the ARF is really superior for another 300ish.

As for the tt bare sides on ARF watches, they have fixed that issue on the 116613LB doubt it'll be an issue. The stock datewheels are excellent (opinion varies) in the SD43s, its just a matter of marketing like the Noob subs, a step forward and two steps back.
