WTF is this:

I don't have a 'cause' I merely expressed why I bought a rep rather than a gen of a particular watch, the potential upside to the company who sells it, and I've been getting abused by needle dicked neckbeards ever since.

Man, you are one rude asshat! 14 are you? Stop it now before I ask Eddie for your IP and ban your arse here!

I stepped out of that thread about 3 pages ago. Not stepping back into the bear pit.

^That sums up my experience with WUS. Pretentious is an understatement. It's not as bad in some of the lower-priced areas though...

There are a special bunch there, and I won't even get started on the site owner, but I'll be damned if it's not the best place to sell a high priced gen in half a day.

I dont think it really matters why people are buying reps or gens but I would have thought alot of the TZ guys must be sh1tting themselves that they are gonna buy a "super fake" on SC. Ive mentioned a few times that they really need to be educated esp these days but the loudest ones just believe ignorance is bliss. A fool and his money are too easily parted, but I think once more and more guys reveal theyve bought super reps on SC they will have to have a sticky or some thread on the tells just to give them at least a fighting chance.

Some folks sure are busy trying to make replica owners look like clowns. For the record, a clown has a red nose and big shoes.....check out my wisdom right there....booya in yo face TZ!! I checked all of us, and we don't have the big shoes...

What do I care what these guys think?
I will jump to a conclution here; probably 40% of TZ, or any watch forum members, have owned a rep or shitty fake at some time, and more of the regular big boys on gen fora, have reps, a lot more than the haters would like to think.
In a way, a sheep shouting among a flock of sheepandpartylwolves, who think he's in a pure sheep flock.
I have no, absolutely no intention of talking shit about any of those guys over there, and we must try to understand that the whole rep world is connected with things like emotions of the hate you have against unfair competition, and just the simple feeling of surprise.
Some of these guys comment based on knowledge, and some really mean what they state about reps. -that is their right...but in reality, everyone can see the temptation in reps. If there was no obvious temptation in reps, then there would be no future for reps, and therefore no problem, so anyone can see it, but will rarely admit it.
For us to try and convince them that this is a cool hobby, well that is a mission that might happen in some cases, but the civil debate is just to difficult in a tropic rain of different voices, all trying to defend and describe 6 different levels of hate/love/acceptance/curiosity of fake watches.
I don't understand how anyone can get so emotional over these things. but the fact that people that are purely gen owners and who hate reps, often try to tweak the debate towards organising rep owners in one box (the litter box) and gen owners in another box is just disappointing. None of these civil gentleman clubs would accept any such prejudice towards any other group of people.( whichwe aren't by the way, we are as diverse as any other forum)

I think that bonesey has said a lot over there, and though I don't personally think we should spend a lot of time discussing this over there (because we know it will result in an exhausting shit fight) I still think Bones did a fantastic job of staying civil, and proposing only solid data and mature calmness, which I felt a sensible amount of the TZ guys was actually recognising.

In the end, I know that if you read on rep fora, you will get the whole story, and if you limit yourself to gen fora, you will be the guy who is missing out, but on the other hand, I felt that some TZ members, in a subtle way, said that TZ just wasn't the time or place.
Then there's always the guys who find it unnaturally important to join in with a "just to make it clear, I hate fake people and fake watches" -that's a bit odd.....post whore? afraid to admit you have reps? shoulderpatting the big strong members? I don't know, but to read that thread, you need to have a lot of time to filter all the posts that are based on zero insight on the thread subject. Those guys should just have an interessting read, and do the posting in other threads.

Those guys are nuts.

A couple maybe but most of them look to be sane. It only takes one or two fundamentalists to derail a discussion. One or two of what I can only assume were our members were not exactly helping either. I don't see why it needs to dissolve into name calling, that is the preserve of the guy who has run out of rational argument.

Well said Lego....well said....

I am blessed to have found RWI/RWG before my hiatus into the gen world. I learned real quick over there that whilst they know their shit....they didnt know shit about the replica hobby. Its just fine with me if the narrow minded WIS like a lot of those guys STAYS naive about the real deal that exisits here. Having experianced rep/gen/rep has really widened my scope of reality. I am content in my world.

It's amazing how some people just aren't even willing to educate themselves about high quality reps. Those poor folks might end up falling victims to scams.

As others have said, I prefer it this way I think. Not that I want anyone to get scammed, but I think general ignorance about really high-end reps increases their value, in some respect.

as an aside here, i saw Kevin O'leary, well known pompous rich, some would say ass-hat (i actually kind of like him most of the time), say on a national television business program this week that he used to love reps, and before he could afford it used to buy them all the time and rock them hard.

he was in a discussion about counterfeit merchandise and the debate was whether such "fakes" hurt the brand etc. he argued they actually helped the brands.
