Based on the video of my QC, the date flips over a minute early at 11:59 pm. Would be nice if it was for 12:00 am, but not complaining since there is a instant date change now.

I will service the watch though as recommended by Legend on another forum and by my friend who introduced me to both watches and replicas (at the same time).

Can the timing of the instant date change be ”perfected” while servicing the watch?

Of course, as simple as having the hands re-set by a watchsmith. Not sure if it's really worth taking it in to have this fixed by itself, though.

Does the AP 15500 v3 instant date change happen at exactly midnight? Does the gen happen exactly at midnight? If a QC happens 5-10 minutes before or after midnight, is that a GL or RL?

Wondering how sensitive one needs to be on the timing of the instant date change for AP 15500s.

Btw, I am new to the forums, new to watches, new to replicas. I posted similar question in chatroom, so my apologies for re-asking.

1. You first need to differentiate between slow date change (date rolls for a time before changing over completely and instant date change (self explanatory).

2. Dates can instantly change at midnight or a few minutes before or after for the gen. The 0000 date change can be arranged with a hands reset.

3. Having a date change at 0000hrs on a given day may not mean that all 31 dates change at exactly the same time, especially for the rep where the associated parts are not as precise. You will still get instant date changes are different timings, variations likely within 1-3 min.

I hope this is clear for you. There is no reason to reject a watch based on the date change moment. If you’re concerned about that, be aware of what I wrote above, especially point 3 and make your own decision accordingly.

In my gens (I have exactly 70 APs now having sold a few duplicate pieces past 2 weeks) the date changes occur between 2350-0010hrs.
I think that 2359hrs is very acceptable in a rep (or any gen in fact). And more precise than a lot of gens I’ve personally seen. I do monitor the date changes because useless to most as it may be, I am pedantic about the instant date change and the time of change personally.

Thanks for the info. Don’t blame you at all, especially at a premium price tag you’re paying for the gen, I would want my timepiece to be as accurate as possible with the tolerance. Wear them in good health!

Latest news for anyone interested is that the ZF factory has indeed produced v3s of the 15500 rose gold / black dial (15500 OR).

I've spoke with one TD so far who has confirmed this.

hello i just received 15500 v3 qc but looking the timegraph i think its not so right. what do you thinks? the lift angle seems to be low, also they can better for set beat error and rate

I was hoping that they'd engrave the text on the movement, but it's still print like the APSF model. Not a deal breaker, but it certainly would've been nice.

thie 15500 dial doesnt seems to be as good as the zf 15400. The dial doesnt have that glossy or sheen . In gen , do these 2 model have the same glossy ?
