AP diver V3

Today I received my AP diver and I am really happy with it.

As you may know, we are all waiting for the diver to come out. Now the first release of the diver came in Dec 2010, we all hoped that this would be a great watch. As it turned out, this watch did not come from the noob factory, it came from the Channel factory. Now when it came out, we all expected also the release from the noob factory, but as of today, there is no release of that watch. Rumors are saying, it will be out next week and Angus is on the way to the factory to take a pic of the prototype, I am crossing my fingers that the watch will be releases soon and will be super rep. I will get it also.

Now to the V3 from the Channel factory, I call it the V3.

When it came out in Dec the DW was white, this was corrected in Spring 2011. So the V2 came with black DW. Now the last correction of flaws was done with the V3 version, the caseback was corrected, it says now Royal Oak instead of Raya Oak, the crown at ten which moves the inside bezel is screwed in now and this crown is also oversized, compare to the crown at 3. The size is 7.5 mm compare to 6 mm. Also the crystal is reized like the gen.

The watch has still 2 big flaws, but I can live with them. The quality of the watch is great, the crowns works perfectly.

I need to thank Yannou and LFH for their great service in helping me to get the latest v3. Looks like since I am writing this the noob release is here, let us see.
I am going to buy one also.

To me this might do. I take it it can be made waterproof. I would not like to have to take it off to swim. I think it looks very good, although not perfect.

Now to the question of price. I wonder how much it is on for at the moment and what impact the introduction of a competior version would have.

Perhaps I should buy yours when this happens????

Thanks for the review guru, beautiful photos of the AP diver. It looks bigger than the 42mm watch, I like the raised crystal and the rest of the details looks great.

I placed an order for this model as well, this will be my first AP. :thumbsup:

For the moment I'm waiting for the last case and I will keep it as it is...full relumed, double AR and new case...

crown @3 position is much better on this "channel" factory, but the case back is better on the "noob" factory.

V3 is from "channel factory" and V2 is from "noob factory"

This is the third revision of the first version of the watch. All three revisions were done by the same factory, the Chanel factory. Version two comes from a different factory, Noobfactory.

Vpx is spot on, although it will probably remain confusing to those you haven't followed the development of the diver over the past 6 months.

I guess the issue is the definition between versions and revisions. Something similar has happened with the DSSD.

Either the Chanel factory edition should be referred to as the V1, and that is it including all three revisions of it so far, and noobfactory edition released to day is V2. Otherwise we are looking at descriptions such as Chanel factory V3 (CV3) and noobfactory V1 (NV1).

Yes, it can...all AP straps fit this watch. I do not know about the noob factory release. I will get on and do a comparison.

To be clearer
There are only 2 versions of the AP Diver:

The Channel Factory : Updated V3 with the screw in crown at 10 and the correct spelling on the caseback

AND

The Noob Factory version : just released so called Noob Version

Logically that this would become misleading with calling them V1-V2-V3... It's simple, we need to follow the dealers.

These are the versions:

V1, which has got updates over the last few months, cheaper version with more flaws

V2, latest release made by another factory and more correct but more expensive as well.

So the V2 is what you need to ask your dealer if you want the best and layest version.

Josh listed this as the noob factory release which is correct.
The difference in price between the the noob factory release and the v3 is 120 USD.
